Bush is NOT an idiot, but where he, or any man for that matter, might lack, he surrounds himself with compitent, experienced cabinet members. And BUSH doesn't have them killed off like Vince Foster.

A little side note, I just saw Bush at a confrence on his "Vacation." It included BOTH Democrats and Republicans, plus a lot of regular people asking questions regarding the ecomomy.

Moe, you're talking like Clinton could have just gone over there himself. My dad has been part of the CIA's counterterrorism unit for more than a decade now, and he and his co-workers have always complained that the real problem is that the funding and resources for the Agency kept getting cut as soon as the USSR fell...and this started under Bush's daddy. And the hinderance of the CIA, FBI, NAS, and the other agencies was just par for the course for the next decade, and this was the policy of the SENATE, which under Clinton was REPUBLICAN. So the "blame" for not being prepared or not doing anything needs to be spoonfed to both the useless Democrats AND the useless Republicans.

if you look closely at florida it's very obviouse gore deserved, and recieved more votes. with the sytem bush's team advocated gore would've gotten more votes, even without there were thousands of absentee ballots cast after election day, republicans saying not counting these votes was the democrats trying to disenfranchise the military is just covering their asses for raising votes when they knew they needed them. yet those votes were still counted.

One of the bigger knocks at Bush around Washington was that because he was a former director of the Agency, he might turn a blind eye to "rampant spending" by government agencies, especially the intelligence community. To "prove" otherwise, Bush began stripping down the Agency's powers and resources once the USSR fell...trying to make nice with everyone in the District...

Clinton did scuzzy things with cash, bribes, real estate, and women. Bush and Reagan did scuzzy things with third world dictators, drugs, arms sales, Iraq, Iran and the like. Just like not all Republicans are conservatives. In fact, I think most "real" liberals AND conservatives would be insulted to be called democrats OR republicans.

The sad thing is, even until the first couple of decades of the 20th century, there were a good dozen political parties that put up serious political candidates. But ever since WW1, it's pretty much been just the two, and it's scary that that nobody seems bothered by that. Everyone just wants to conform to fit one or the other, and when they see anyone else who DOESN'T fit into either the VERY narrow view of "democrat" or "republican", they get scared and end up throwing tantrums. And that doesn't help ANYONE. Nobody HAS to vote the same goddamn party always and in everything...people need to think for themseleves more often, especially when voting.
