The airplane is found on the third Island at the airport (duh!). It's a small little prop plane, not one of the big jets.

Flying it is a pain in the ass, but essentially, pick up a lot of speed and take off. Once you reach altitude, instead of pulling up to increase altitude, you need to babysit the controls by nosing the plane down periodically (it's not intuitive, but that's how they decided to work it).

My usage of "duh" was not meant as a dig at anyone in particular. Finding airplanes at airports is a pretty obvious connection. I was actually saying "duh" to point out the fact that it was obvious logic. I wasn't making fun of anyone.

I may be obnoxious, but I won't direct that at anyone who doesn't deserve it, so please don't take offense. It wasn't directed at anyone on the board.

I don't know , but you have mine. As for GTA3 you were going to be able to use the airplane (like the continental ones) but because of 9/11 the MRAAP wouldn't allow GTA3 to have it in it's game. The new GTA: Vice City that is coming out has new transportations like a bicycle and a helicopter.

i've found the best way to sustain altitude in the plane is that once your up high in the air...dont touch anything, it seems the second you touch the controls and move the plane a little bit, it's all down hill (pun intended)

Here's one consolation...As long as you don't crash in the water, you're fine. You can hit buildings (unfortunately) and bounce right off. You'll hit the ground and not explode. The plane is pretty durable - I haven't destroyed it yet, other than in the drug running mission where you have to take the other plane down with the rocket launcher, but that's another story.

Is it just me, or is this thread getting eerier and creepier with each post?

I have never been able to fly that thing for more than 12 seconds. I dont think your meant to fly it long distances, and you dont need to for any missions.
I have read that some have flown for up to 5 minutes, but thats hard to believe.

If anyone has gotten good air time, What can you do up there? Can the police helicopters get you, Can you land it anywhere besides the airport

u gotta hold down x to go and hold one of the analog sticks up but not all the way and when the plane starts to rock back and forth let go of the analog stick and start steering regularly. play around with the steering because its hard and prctice youll crash alot but think of the glory when u take off and fly sucessfully
