I hear so many conflicting reports about this topic.
Being a "better living through chemistry" type of guy", I need to know HK.

HECKLER - There have been many conflicting reports about this topic.
When a drug is first manufactured it receives a copyright for a number of years. During this period no other drug company can copy it and produce a "generic" equivelant. After this period expires, any company can duplicate the drug.
Genneric drugs cost a fraction of the name brand products. They are equivelant but not necessarily equal. A generic brand might (depends on who does the study) contain +/- 15% difference in the dosage strength from that listed on the bottle.
For most medications, even if this is true, it makes little or no difference. In the rate occasions where you need an exact doasage, your dr. will probably give you a DAW (dispense as written) perscription.
I feel very safe and secure with generic.
