Great segement tonight looking back at the great soul and R&B from the past.
From Motown, Philly International, Stax and the rest, this music was incredible.
Maybe Earl should do an overnight "Quiet Storm" show and forget about the "Black Rock" for now.

I absolutely LOVE that old funk, soul, and R&B stuff!
What a shame that the only place to hear it on the radio is on a talk show program. That music has a quality that's undefinable, and never fails to make me feel good and get me dancing.

Yet another great R&F segment I missed!
I think it's time to break out those Stax/Volt and Spinners CDs I haven't played in a while.

Amen, brother. I used to catch Felix Hernandez's rhythm review show on that Newark station before he had a slot on Jammin' 105. Now that station sucks again since they changed format. Maybe he should guest on Ron & Fez? The guy is an encyclopedia of R&B and soul from back in the day when a full band accompanied a singer, not the like crap being pumped out nowadays.
Ah, memories. Thanks R&F for bringing up the golden age of music.

I love that ol' soul music too. Too bad they never got to play my suggestion of "Me and Mrs. Jones" by Billy Paul!

Theres nothing better. You know how some music you kinda have to be in the mood for? This stuff MAKES the mood for you. I tried to suggest "Going in Circles" by Friends of Distinction, but no luck.
