I just wanted to take a moment to wish the best of luck to all the bands after the contest is all over. At this point and time, none of us know who'll be playing the Hard Rock - however, there are some bands on here that we have already and have had the pleasure to share the stage with (60MD, Buck 3 Eighty, Into Darkness, Savant, and Ded Effect) as well as bands such as IDK and the Lawndarts, whom I have had the pleasure of seeing live.
I have also been introduced to a few new bands (Boss Jim Gettys and Digger Phelps).
Hopefully, after the 'contest' people still stick true to music and take it as far as they can.
Anyways, best of luck to all the bands in the future, and we'll see ya on stage!

Hey, I figure this....
Even if Digger Phelps doesn't make it...
We've already won, by just being a part of it.
Thank you Ron and Fez, Jeff and Carter, and anyone that supported us through this and had time to listen to our music.
All of you rule, and best of luck to all the bands.

Check out Digger Phelps (#5) at Bello's in Sayreville on Saturday, August 17th at 10PM! And there's no cover, how can you beat that?

I don't usually post here all that often, but I'm really glad Seymour Glass made the final 5 - these guys are friends of mine from way back, and I highly recommend everyone give them a listen.

Congrats guys - and congrats to the other bands for making it. I hope I get my tickets...

I have to agree with you regarding Seymour Glass. I gave their tune a listen a few weeks ago and really enjoyed it. They've got interesting compositions going on - definitely not cookie cutter or typical songwriting. I like the fact that they're going for that Radiohead feel while so many other bands on national radio are nothing more than 4 chord strummers with a second rate Eddie Vedder knockoff leading the way. Makes them stand out a bit more.
All the bands that made it sound like they have their act together, so I'm sure the people attending the show will have a great time.
Thanks everybody at R&F.net for putting this together. It was nice to hear new bands on the radio for once.

I honestly thought there would be more of a musical variety. The first band sounded like generic hardcore and the other four were very similar to each other. There was a lot of variety among the choices, but not the winners. Good luck, anyway.

YEA! Digger Phelps came in 6th place!
Well, so did all the other 872 bands.
It was fun while it lasted, and the anticipation last night, waiting for the winners to be announced, was a good feeling. Hopefully some people liked what they heard during the contest and will continue to support all these unsigned bands.
Thanks to everyone who voted for us, and don't forget to check us out this Saturday at Bello's in Sayreville, NJ.
Go here for details.

WHAT???? The bands that made it to the final 5 are about as good as a used tampon!!! They have NO musical talent what-so-ever!!! The people who judged this and picked the bands for the final should have their knee caps bashed in with a 2X4 with nails sticking out of it!!! You know why these styles of music are not popular or played on the radio? BECAUSE THEY SUCK and the people who have an idea of what music should sound like wouldn't piss on these cds to put out a fire!!! Here's an idea, go back to the list of bands and listen to... lets say....Kingsland, or B-Side Theory, (neither of which I have ever heard before) and give them a listen! (Kingsland is on the first page), and tell me that those songs have no musical quality, or have a great groove to them. And NO I am not in any of these bands that entered this contest, I just have an idea of what GOOD music sounds like, not this yuppie/hippie indie bullshit that some drug infested faggot decided to vote for.

Now now...
No need for that. If you don't care for a band, I think you should just quietly keep it to yourself. No need for bashing. The voting is done and there is no reversal, so there's no use in starting some "my dicks bigger than yours" type band thread.
Every band gave it a shot. It's tough to pick 5 bands out of over 300. I trust that fair was fair. And I was just happy to be in it. So... I'd like to see this remain a positive thread. That's all I'm asking.

At least all the bands got some exposer through the contest. And exposer counts for a lot

You are venting to the wrong people sweetie. Not one person here seems bitter. I think there were a lot of amazing bands entered in this contest...and everyone was happy just to be in it. Just because one band won and another didnt doesnt mean they are better than anyone else. Maybe the bands you like will win next year. So chill out, buddy ...
