if a person smokes weed, will that effect their children??? (speaking physically... not in terms of emotional or pshychological stuff)

have any studies been done or reports published???

There is nothing more exhilerating than pointing out the shortcomings of others, is there?

um, some of us would rather not know. when my kid is all fucked up it will be my wife's fault.

i can't imagine it having too much of an effect though, it would probably have more of an impact if it was the mother getting high while pregnant, but other than that it shouldn't have too much of an effect.

look at all the kids from the 60's, they came out alright i guess. or not.

I haven't heard of any. But obviously a pregnant woman should not be smoking anything because of the risks. (Dammit, I may never be ready to have a kid) But I can't imagine how exposure to the smoke would do them any harm (other than their parents being big pot heads). It's better than cigarette smoke anyday.

But I'm assuming you do know the seeds are bad for men. They can lower your sperm count and make it harder for you to have kids. So make sure what you are smoking is seed free!

TCH (the chemical in pot that gets you high) crosses the placental barrier and can cause chromosomal damage. (Brain damage as well).

A child born to a mother addicted to pot will suffer symptoms similar to fetal alcohol syndrom (FAS).

Is that really true. I mean I've heard it all the time, but it always struck me as something people made up to make sure people picked all the seeds out of there pot, since seeds taste like shit when smoked. And if it is true, then I'm throwin these condoms out the window and roastin up a bowl of seeds.

Pot definitely lowers the sperm count. However, I saw no research specifying that it was seeds or seedless pot that caused this effect. All the studies I've seen refer to the active ingredient in pot, THC. It is this chemical that causes most of the problems. (One exception I know of is tar, of which a joint has more than a cigarette.)

My dad was a heavy pot smoker (until he died), though not around us kids...My 2 brothers and I are daily pot smokers...I think there's a connection. <P>

There's absolutely a gentic component to drug addiction. Additionally, having been raised in an enviornment w/a father who was a pot smoker makes it harder to overcome the lure of the drug.
