i used to play on LOA clan server and W4R clan server usually. i stopped playing cause i'm on a 56K and to really play that game and have a shot at being good at it u need a cable modem. I'm getting cable soon though so i will start playing it again i'm gonna write this server down. my name in the game is -=[PuLLeY]=-

Rooster, it's free. It's an add-on to half-life.

I played a lil, I played a lot more TFC, but I'd be interested in getting into a game. Just need to install half-life on my new pc

i can comiserate Todd..i too have a 56k modem and learned long ago that Days of Defeat and Counter Strike were a pipe dream..BUT i do have fun playing Team Fortress Classic - putting up a sentry gun ( Engineer class) and letting it do the work for me. i get beaten there by cable players alot also but its the only choice i have.

If you have any questions about DoD, let me know. I've been playing it since beta 1.1 (they're on 3.1 now). In short, it's more strategic than TFC or CS because there are some goals you cannot attain alone (some flag captures require two or more people). Plus you get to blow stuff up with tnt and belt commands out in German! It's the best HL mod out there. And yeah, it's free.

You're right though, playing on a 56k modem is hell. You need DSL or Cable to make it enjoyable, although I have seen dudes with 600 ping kick some ass (don't ask me how).

I know a few good servers to play on, so if you decide to install it, head over to The [NUT] Sac or Recongaming. Elend is a good server too. When you do a server update, you can filter servers by name, map, net speed, etc. I'm sure you already know that though...
