Express Lanes

I was on my way home from the shore today and took the Parkway. For the first time, I decided to use the "express" portion of the parkway. Why they call it "express" is a mystery to me. People drive just as fast in the regular part of the parkway.. the only difference being that there's more exits in the regular part. Shouldn't you be able to go 110 mph or somesuch in the express part to really make it "express"?

Express cuts out some of the exit traffic. thats the only difference. It helps when coming from Wildwood back to north Jersey.

I hate when people say they were at "the shore".

There ARE people that live down here!

We DO have town names you know?

"Down the shore" can be anywhere from Belmar to Cape Fucking May! That's a lot of land area to be quite vague about.

AND it's the bennies that come to my town, leave their shit all over, drive those really stupid cars with the neon and bolt-on wings and shit, take no consideration for the people that actually live here, act like we're supposed to cater to them, and then they cause huge fucking traffic jams on the parkway when I got a gig or something I have to get to. All because they wanted to burn up at the beach during the day, and drive 2 mph behind some other asshole in a ridiculously over modified Honda at night with some God-awful crap way too loud out of their stereo, just trying to look "cool" and get some "bitches".

I'm sorry to rant here, but I used to live in Seaside Heights. And every fuckhead North of the Raritan would come down, leave their fucking trash everywhere, park in people's personal driveways. Get drunk, and puke and piss all over the sidewalks and people's cars. And treat the people who lived there like they were to wait hand and foot on them.

The reason that "Express Lane" is so jammed, is because it's all the people that live North of the Raritan going home.

So if you ever come "down the shore", and you see a sign that says "Bennies go home".

It means you.

I mean like, a general "you", not you personally ADF.

I hate when people say they were at "the shore"i hate it when people say they're going "down the shore". that's just plain old incorrect english. going down TO the shore, perhaps, but never EVER down the shore. ugh it makes me oh so angry.

it doesnt matter how fast you're going, the lanes are still express. it's like on the subway... the express trains generally go the same speed as the locals, the only difference being that the local keeps stopping at every station, whereas the express does not. and at the extra stops is (theoretically, anyway) the only time that the local will be slower than the express.

The only difference is that there are fewer exits on the express lanes which in theory reduces traffic.

i believe the Express has 2 lanes compared to the Local's 3...
even if the Local or (right side) of the Parkaway has more exits I feel the 3 lanes gives you a faster route...

So in other word "don't express yourself"

I think they should make the express lanes like the Autobahn.. Porsches screaming down banked curves at 140 miles an hour sounds like "express" to me.

It's not the # of items that bothers me...it's the fact that with a $3.00 purchase, someone will pull out their checkbook or credit card. Apparently the express part of the line is lost on them, because it's for people who want to get in and out fast! Damn you people!

What chaps my ass about the express lane at the supermarket is the couple (who are SO obviously together) who decide to "split" their order-- he has 10, she has 10. People like that can bite my cranky ass!

Or how about THIS-- all the lines are long, right? So a couple splits up and stands on two lines. If one moves faster, the other jumps in and cuts.

God-- I have such disdain for the supermarket. I only go if I need cat food or litter.

how about when you get to the Express and it just so happened that one of the Checkout Managers allowed someone with a "hundred and fifty" items to use the Express because no customers were there for like "a minute"
