Gather my child as I tell you tales of the ancients. At night, when it's quiet, come by the board and you'll hear it. Whispers in the dark. The slightest murmur on the wind. Some will say it's not true, just a story made to frighten new posters and keep them in line, but I've seen it, man. Some nights, if you go by the Mods Only Room, you'll hear the music, the laughter, you can see their sillhouettes, shadows dancing across the wall, and then it gets silent. The door creaks open and one of them, Pantera, EffMeBoobs, maybe even FoundryMusicJeff will stumble out. Spying a newbie, they'll approach. Through a fog of liquor laced breath they'll invite you in.
"Come dance with us." they'll say, "Don't you wanna be cool? Don't you want a catchy little phrase under your name?"
And you accept. The Mod places a reassuring hand on your shoulder, guiding you to the awaiting paradise. Nervously you step forward over the threshold, and the door closes.
Some scream, some whimper, some make no noise at all. But make no mistake, none return.
Those of us who've been here a while know to lookout. We've seen our brothers fall. But you, young one, don't go by there alone.
That's my story. Oh they'll deny it to the end. They'll say I'm crazy, deranged, but remember when all is calm, listen, for the wind sees all.
