UT or Q3? Which do you prefer, and why?

What with new games coming out from ID (Doom III) and Digital Extremes (Unreal Tournament 2003), I figured I put out the question to fps fans. Both Quake 3 and Unreal Tournament are probably the most influential multi-player fps games out there. Which one do you play more?

I have never played Quake three i only have only played unreal tournament. Wouldn't Doom be the most influention First Person Shooter ever? Also Halo was a huge step for Consoles.

Doom and Wolfenstein 3d were pioneers of the 3d single player games (even though Doom had network code built in), but UT and Q3 were designed primarily for networked games, like Tribes.

I have always been fonder of UT, since there is some strategy to the game playing (ctf, assault, etc.) whereas Q3 is a straight-up deathmatching game. It's a great engine, but UT is a better game in my opinion.

Doom 3 is going to be kickass though.

But for consoles, I agree with you that Halo is probably the best one, although I haven't played Medal of Honor: Frontline for PS2 yet. It's supposed to be amazing.
