See, it would be nice to check WJFK's website to see any mention of this R&f rumor...BUT THEY DON'T HAVE ONE. Truly pathetic...and while DC is a smaller market than NYC, it's still one of the biggest in the country and the world...both shows out of WJFK, D&M and The Sports Junkies, like them or not, are syndicated to around or at least a dozen markets each, so at least R&F could still be getting out there...and while WNEW is falling apart, WJFK is still pretty stable...Stern, D&M, and The Junkies all pull in the top talk ratings here, and O&A weren't doing that great, so R&F don't have to do too much to beat them...plus they already have a rabid core audience to build from, so maybe this whole DC idea isn't as crazy as it seems...

After O&A, only Ferrell and R&F were left, and with Ferrell's ratings, that part was easy. So, with R&F only left, they can do one of two things:

1) Keep them on NEW around a changed format and they'llbe the only talk show on (it happens on plenty of music stations, on either mornings or afternoons, they put on a talk show). Man, it'd be great if R&F go to mornings if only to hit for the cycle (late night, evenings, midday, afternoon drive and morning drive).

or

2) Infinity moves them to another station in the Infinity family and they turn NEW to CUNT-ry.

I guess 3 would be to fire them, but with their ratings, that won't happen, and if they planned to, they'd be canned already. I guess Lick-ass isn't a permanent thing, just something to put on til the format changes. Either way, that's the way I see it going out, just because it's the ony logical explanation I could come up with.

WNEW is like the NY Mets of radio. Everything looked promising for a brief instant, and now it's basically in the shitter, with one bright spot. And who knows how long that will last...

Well I don't know if anyone has said or saw this yet but it is confimed. If you read the Daily News article about Ron Pennington and Fez Whatley, at the bottom of the article, an Infinity spokeperson has said Ferrall was fired, "because of bad ratings."

What the hell does Infinity and NEW expect. Anyone going against Stern is going to need then a few months to gain any form of ratings. They should have at least kept him because he was liked by the fans he did have and was also liked what was of the staff. <P>

What's wrong with Sid? He's on WFAN in the mornings and last I checked, cohosted the mid morning show...I always liked him, and thought that the Scott and Sid show was the best sports combination that wnew had in the mornings.

Plus they got up close interviews with Bonnie Bernstein...beat that!

I think I figured out the Ferrall firing. Diddn't Ferrall have to take a drug test recently. I think he spoke about it last month. I was on the boat party with him and I can guarantee he failed that one. He really is off the hook...it's no act, the man is a party animal. I think he may be back in 28 days. (rehab maybe?)
