(Copied from opieanthony.com, who suffers from the same issue)
I'm posting this in General Discussion because it will get the most exposure and it will very much help out the board.
If you are a regular on this board, you have occasionally come across a post of thread with a reply or post count of -1. The -1 is the product of a delete request made by a moderator that didn't go through all the way. (Either the database was clogged and dropped the request, or the Cold Fusion server shut off due to high traffic.)
In any event, if you see a -1 next to ANY of the topic titles, please email me the thread. If you don't know how to copy the URL into an email, please ask a mod or email me personally at jeff@foundrymusic.com.
The reason I'm asking everyone to keep an eye out is if one of these little -1 abberations pop up in a set of your search results (on the search page), the search request will crap out, rendering it utterly useless to you.
This does NOT in any way effect your ability to post or reply to threads or any other general messageboard function aside from search and seeing other posts made by a user from the WHOIS screen.
If you have any questions about this stuff, let me know. This is not a major error, nor is it a flaw in my code. Occasionally our traffic is incredibly high, and the SQL server may drop a request. (It happens when you're processing a billion or so requests a day. I'm surprised the server hasn't literally exploded yet. )
Thanks all!
