Mike Piazza lashes out at Keith Hernandez

I think what Keith Hernandez wrote on MSG.com is correct. The Mets have no guts this year. They have absolutely no leadership whatsoever. Piazza is a selfish player who is the farthest thing from a team player. I listen to this guy on Eddie Trunk last week in the midst of the home losing streak, and he sounds like he doesn't have a care in the world. Oh well, we keep losing at home, we suck, lets stump the audience with an underground classic. Eddie Trunk should have a multi-million dollar contract to host Friday and Saturday Night Rocks too. If Piazza was a team player, he would have moved his fragile ass to first base last year. Instead we get this fat ass has been Mo Vaughn for the next few years. And Valentine is no better. He is not getting on these scrubs enough. If we had a guy like Jim Leyland or Buck Showalter in there,they would be straightened out. These primma donnas would not be sliding into first. If they did, they would be benched. The bottom line is, Hernandez is 100% right. It's about time someone had the balls to tell it like it is.

leyland isnt gonna manage anyone anymore, escpecially in NY and showalter has lost every clubhouse hes managed in because of his endless rules and pissing off the veterans...

I know that Leyland is done. But I think Showalter would fit perfectly. He goes by uncredited for the current Yankees success. He and Stick Michael gave Jeter, Bernie, and Mariano a chance in the big leagues. The Mets need a guy like him who could help rebuild and reform their minor league players.

Sometimes it really is hard to blame Valentine though. He was basically dealt a flush, and couldn't win with it. Alomar never wanted to be here from the beginning. Vaughn was a risk from day one. And who the hell thought that Burnitz and Cedeno would be doing as bad as they've been.

if piazza had moved his big gay heart to 1st base, a lot of disappointment would've been averted. i mean, the guy's a liability behind the plate. about the only thing he does is block it, and thats because he likes it up close and personal. i dont blame him for being care-free on eddie trunk's show. if you were a met, and you know the season's finished, are you gonna let it ruin your day? hell no. cash your check and tell the fans to kiss your underachieving ass.

i blame it on joe orsulak. but seriously, the day they let straw go was the day i started to appreciate pinstripes, and that was the day my baseball team would always, always put the best product on the field.
