I almost lost my job because of O and A

I was informed today that one of the car dealerships my company has an account with threatened to pull their buisness away because they saw the sign in the back of my van stating "Bring Back Opie and Anthony!!!" The dealership (my boss refused to tell me which one) said they did not want to do buisness with a company that supports people having sex in a church. The call made its way to upper management and I was almost fired. I was ordered to tear down my signs, which I did.
I have 2 questions.
The first is do you know of a good way to show how I support O and A and how I feel their firing was wrong and second..How did the country come to this? How is it that if someone does not agree with my opinion they threaten to pull buisness and make life difficult? I think I am entitled to my opinion and not live in a world where if I have a different point of view it does not make wrong outright. I know small minds beget small ideas, but GOD I hope these people wise up and realize what country this is and maybe they should re-read the constitution.
Sorry this is long winded, had a bit to get off my chest. I would like to know what you think.

Whther you believe in God or not, fucking a church is pretty, well, fucked-up. Even if you don't believe in their system, a massive amount of people hold churches sacred, especially St. Patrick's, so it is pretty easy to see how people could take this personally.

I know what you are trying to say Mojo...but who is to say that the caller was a member of the Catholic church or even a Christian.
And for taking it personally...I am a member of the Catholic chruch and a christian and I do not take it personally. Why should someone ELSES' offence be forced on me?

the catholic faith in general places too much importance on tangible things. a church is more about people gathering in the name of Christ rather than a man-made building. in the end, the cathedral is just a place, a crucifix is just a piece of carved wood, and thats a wafer they put in your mouth, not the actually body of our Lord. the tree in the shape of the virgin mary is just a tree. the image in a window is just residue. these things arent the Holy of Holies hidden behind a veil. they're not the Ark of the Covenant. those are true holy objects.

unfortunately, people need a god they can see. and since the catholic god is intangible, he needs a placeholder like a cathedral, and uptight catholics will hold it sacred.

i'd just put the sign away. its not worth losing your livelihood for OnA. i'm sure they'll tell you that too. its just a show, and they will be back.

I think that trying to help them save their job is a noble effort, but I don't think it's anything so big it's worth losing your job over. If you did, I doubt two shock jocks would rally outside your boss's office to help you get your job back. Support is one thing, but when it threatens your own employment, I think you have to draw a line.

I was refering to the topic at hand; people being offended by Tom's support of O&A as being PC, not sex in a church.

If people want to ban o&a for what they did, fine, that's their choice. but to hunt down supporters? that's PC.

JUSTICE - Losing your job will not bring O and A back.

It is awful that your boss (and government in general) lets a religious fringe group (and lets get real, of course that's who they were) dictate his policy. America is starting to increasingly resemble a theocracy.

If you'd like to try to bring Opie and Anthony back, attend the rally, write and call the station demanding their return, boycott sponsers like Sam Adams that showed their true colors by immediately distancing themselves from the show. Letter writing campaigns work. It brought back Star Trek, an extremely low rated show at the time, and it is more likely to be effective with a proven money making show like o and a. Of course this holds true only if we're dealing with rational people and from WNEW's actions with O and A they hardly seem to fit this category.
