Seriously.

Unless you lost someone in the tragedies or were involved personally, there should be NO reason anyone is staying home from work or school tomorrow. I had two employees in my store literally come up and yell, YELL at me for not giving them the day off. That I had no "respect" for the situation...bah, I say, BAH! They both just moved to the DC are within the last six months, and when I asked why they wanted the day off, they both said to "show the proper respect and mourning." I politely replied that that just wasn't possible. You need to ask for a day off at least a week in advance, and they'd be leaving me in the lurch by cutting out by letting me know less than two days before. I did add that if there were personal reasons that required them to take the day off, I would fully udnerstand and allow it, but both stated that they did not, just that it "felt like the right thing to do." So I said "sorry", at which point they started screaming at me. I got fed up and sent both home, and I think one has pretty much quit.

I think I need to fire something.

Two sales people sare taking the day off here. F 'em. I shifted certain scheduling so our clients wouldn't be angry at us (our newsletter will now be going out a day later), but I don't see a reason to stay home. What the fuck am I gonna do there? Sleep in and play video games all day?

more like EVEN if you lost someone...

no need to stay home if you lost someone a year ago. Stay home and do what?

Ill be at school, learning and doing what every american child should be, unless they lost a family member. I still find it hard to believe that kids in my school are whining that we dont get off tommorow. I really hope those self centered assholes remeber this isnt a holiday.

If i were going to school and/or work I'd go.

But neither is the case.

(I go to school 2 days a week and as of now i only work on the weekends until i find a 2nd job.)

Tomorrow I will reflect and remember. Before midnight i plan to write a long piece for Lentsite. But im going to watch tv, post here and on SA, play Madden 2003, masterbate, watch the marathon of sorority life i taped and yes find a 2nd job!

Im not going to keep the TV tuned on CNN, fox news or whatever. To me constant news coverage (and the eventual sensationalization) is nothing but unhealthy to my mind.

I dont need the media to remind me what happened last year.

My company is based out of California and I am the only New York City-based employee in the company. The CEO sent around an email telling us that the company was closing at 12 on 9/11 to allow employees to reflect. Well, I've been reflecting for a year straight right now and while I appreciate a day off, I don't feel like I should be taking off. It feels to me that by doing it, the terrorists are winning one more small victory.

I'm at work, but I think I may want to leave early so I can see about joining my family for dinner or at least spending some time with them.

I am at work today sick just got back from the doctors with 4 perscriptions. Yesterday our CEO sent an e-mail saying it was a personal choice to come into work just let your supervisor know. Within 5 min. all of my employees sent me e-mails saying they were not going to be in. I don't have any objects to people taking off to remember but what is wrong is that I know they took the day off more to just have the day off.
