We can never forget theattacks on our great Nation one year ago, but we also connot forget whats even more important; the people who were on the scene protecting us at the cene, and even travelling hundreds, and even thousands of miles to help. Please use this post to put down something patriotic and/or toughts you have about it. AND I DON'T WANT TO SEE ANY ANTI-AMERICAN BULLSHIT EITHER! So please post a message and show your support and pride in the United States of America. Let this be a small memorial from all of us Ron and Fez fans. Thank you all.
God Bless the USA,
Raymond

Sure I wave the American flag. Do you know a better flag to wave? Sure I love my country with all her faults. I'm not ashamed of that, never have been, never will be. John Wayne
There is something magnificent in having a country to love. James Russell Lowell
I shall know but one country. The ends I aim at shall be my country's, my God's and Truth's. I was born an American; I live an American; I shall die an American. Daniel Webster

Sometimes people call me an idealist. Well, that is the way I know I am an American. America is the only idealistic nation in the world. Woodrow Wilson

Patriotism is easy to understand in America; it means looking out for yourself by looking out for your country. Calvin Coolidge
Let every nation know, whether it wishes us well or ill, that we shall pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe, to assure the survival and success of liberty. John F. Kennedy
The cause of America is, in a great measure, the cause of all mankind. He that would make his own liberty secure must guard even his enemy from oppression. Thomas Paine
You cannot qualify war in harsher terns that I will. War is cruelty, and you cannot refine it. I am tired and sick of war. Its glory is all moonshine. It is only those who have neither fired a shot not heard the shrieks and groans of the wounded who cry aloud for more blood, more vengence, more desolation. War is hell. General William Tecumseh Sherman

Those who struck had no idea of the levels of our resilience. We are many people, many colors, many faiths, many nationalities, many voices, but ultimately we are one nation. The justice may not be swift, but have faith it will be served. God bless America.

I want everyone to remember the feelings we all had one year ago.
We must continue to stomp out anyone who compromises our way of life. After all, that is what those terrorists attacked.
Don't forget people. Don't ever forget.....

I've always been a pretty patriotic guy, and I didn't think it was possible for me to appreciate and love this country of ours any more than I already did. I was wrong.

The attacks that occurred last September 11th only served to strengthen my belief in the people of this country, and proved beyond a shadow of a doubt just how special this nation is and how lucky we all are to be Americans.

Seeing the footage on TV,
hearing the sounds,
knowing about the
moments of silence that will
take place tomorrow at 8:46
and 9:03, it really got the
emotions going for the first
time since probably last
October. Now that the one
year anniversary is here, I
remember everything, the
feelings and emotions are
resurfacing, and sadness
once again outweighs my
anger. The sadness will
eventually fade back into
anger, but right now the
reality and remembering
the
horrible, unthinkable events
that took place one year ago
are really taking a hold on
me. All I can say is, one
year has passed, and my
mind still cannot wrap itself
around the fact that the
Twin Towers collapsed and
3,000 people were killed. It
is something I will NEVER
truly be able to
comprehend. With this one
year anniversary, it has all
become so REAL again.
Let's pray tomorrow for
those who were lost, those
who lost loved ones, and for
the entire country. Let's
make sure nothing like this
ever happens again. On
this topic, I'd like to say
FUCK YOU to anyone who
is insensitive about these
events and anyone who is
gonna spend tomorrow
partying or at an
amusement park. Good
luck to Ron & Fez tomorrow
on their 8 hour show, and
God bless America.

I'm proud to play a small role in helping to build and sustain the greatest Navy the world has ever known.

I'm also proud of the men and women of all our armed forces who have volunteered to serve our nation -- especially those who are putting themselves in harm's way at this moment.

Too many people have become complacent. During the one-year anniversary tributes, let's all remember how angry we were one year ago, how pissed-off and violated we all felt, and how scared we were that day and during the days that followed. We need to remember what happened, and everybody should see it on the television over and over to keep the pain fresh and to further steel our resolve against terrorists. Pray hard for the dead and grieving, but stay viciously alive for those of us who may become the next victims.

I like the fact the I can come to this board, and almost all the posters here are from the NYC area or around DC. It's much more supportive and inspiring to be able to hear from other people who actually understand what it was like that day.

I really don't have much to say cuz I think I've said it already. We are all in the same boat. We hurt... as human beings we all hurt.

Those who thought they could tear America apart are wrong!

God Bless America and all my prayers are with you all in this trying time. Time heals.

God bless America and God bless us all as we remember the pain and horror of the attack we suffered just one year ago today. Maybe by reopening some of these old wounds we can appreciate how strong we are as a nation. Tomorrow, our president will speak before the UN to try to gain support for military action against Iraq, so who knows what new tests our great country will face in the year to come. My husband is in a MIUW unit in the Navy reserves, so I can't think too hard about that or I'm afraid I'll cry and I'm already fighting tears as my tv in the background rebroadcasts the events of last year and I feel that pain all fresh and new like it was yesterday instead of last year. As awful as that day was, I fear our country's strength may have greater tests before it. For today though, just be safe, reach out to the people you love, thank a cop or a fireman you meet on the street and never again take for granted the freedom we still enjoy, the might of our great nation or the strength of us all to stick together and carry on. Peace be with you all today, for tomorrow we may be called upon to kick some ass.

A thoughful mind, when it sees a Nation's flag, sees not the flag only, but the Nation itself: and whatever may be its symbols, its insignia, he reads chiefly in the flag the Government, the principles, the truths, the history which belongs to the Nation which belongs to the Nation that sets it forth.
--Henry Ward Beecher

Liberty lies in the hearts of men and women: when it dies there, no constitution, no law, no court can save it.
-- Judge Learned Hand

that we shall pay any price,

I'm listening to Allen Combs
and he's got a really good
show. Maybe not the kinda
show that belongs on
WNEW, but I'm glad to hear
it today for the occassion.
He expressed my thoughts
exactly when he returned
from a break around 12:30.
He said something along
the lines of "We can all feel
it in the air. Feelings of
sorrow and anger are
awakened today that have
been dorment for the last
year. Unexpected feelings
that we did not think would
come back have
resurfaced." Well said Mr.
Combs.

My husband and I went to Ground Zero a few days after it happened. As we parked the car in a garage on 34th Street we were covered in a fine dust. The air smelled like acid and our noses started to run. We boarded a bus from a shelter covered in Missing posters. All said "last seen on __ floor of WTC." We came to within a block of WTC building #5. My mind didn't accept the burnt hulk right before my eyes. I was still seeing a healthy whole building. I only realized it after I noticed my husband staring at me as I said "we can't see anything from here." We hugged and kissed workers we saw as we made our way to Liberty Street, raising clouds of dust as we walked. Leaves on trees had an inch of dust on them. Piles of shoes where people ran right out of them. Finally a mountain of seething twisted metal rising to the height of a ten story building. No sound from hundreds of people but the sobbing.
These people have dreadfully underestimated us. They thought that our diversity would keep us from uniting to stop them. That our freedoms would make us free to ignore our government's call. That our prosperity has made us lazy or weak. THEY ARE WRONG.
They wanted to make us afraid.
THEY HAVE FAILED.We have been hurt, we have been made angry,
BUT WE ARE NOT AFRAID.
