I thought it was pretty good tonight, but they got a LOT to prove to me after that abortion of a season last year. Musical episode my ASS.
Two observations:
1. Dawn is starting to look pretty hot right now.
2. Willow is the hottest chick on that show. I will fight anyone on that point! Alyson Hannigan is vastly underrated, she's a total p.o.a.

I thought that Dawn chick looked like a Full House reject. Buffy's the obvious choice for total hotness, and sometimes the obvious choice is correct.

I noticed from last night show, Buffy's fighting skills are improving. I also agree with se7ev, Willow is much hotter than Buffy esp. when she's evil.

i've got good feelings about this season... it looks to be good. I can't make a choice between Buffy and willow. They are both so very hot.

"When we say nuts we're not talking about human testicles."
We are going to have to see what kind of villian that one is. I do not believe it has a physical form yet. It is just screwing with Spike's mind right now. And I would take all of the Buffy girls at once if given the opportunity.

Plus, Spike just got a soul, so he is going through some deep shit, like Angel did for 100 years. We'll have to wait and see what happens next.

Great ep last night. Spike insane is gonna be good. The ending was every ''Big Bad'' from previous seasons. I'm thinkin this may be the season where it turns out Buffy is the big bad in the end. Last season they dealt a little bit with the power behind the slayer line, all the way back to the first slayer. The buffy manifest at the end did say its not about good, not about bad, its about power.
** spoiler **
Eliza Dushka is signed on for the last 4 eps of the season. Take that for what it's worth.

The Buffy premiere pretty much rocked my world. And as omebody already posted, I just think the new villian hasn't manifested itself yet, and is just fuckin with spikes head. And while both Buffy and Willow are both hot, neither can compare to Cordillia.

Okay, quick response...

Anya is a vengence demon again. Dawn is just a normal human now. Willow did not die, but she was the ultimate villain of last season's finale. Now she is feeling regret.

Any other questions?

I remember her way back on Clarissa Explains It All. FERGIE! she said. FERGIE!
She's definitely cute. How old is she anyway fellas?
....
The ending was basically meant as an artistic venture into the mind of Spike who is torn with many suppressed feelings and not so. The addition of the former evildoers/antagonists was just a sign of him being at war with himself. The darkness vs. the good, human vs. vampire... dualities rock!
It was an excellent premiere. Can't wait for next week.
Only question I have is... does Dawn have her own Scooby Gang now?

I think the morphing bad guys were a physical manifestation of the power of hellmouth. The principal's office being located over the hellmouth is definate forshadowing.
And Anya switched back to the vengance demon after Xander left her at the altar and dissappeared for a while.
And Anya is the hottest girl on that show.

I have a different take on him seeing all the formerly dead big bads... I was thinking about it after the episode, and have a sort of theory. It might be a spoiler though, because I think I'm right, so continue reading at your own risk! But since it's only a theory, I don't think it's really spoiler material.
SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER
Anyway...
It's only a theory though... does anyone remember Season 3, when Angel came back from hell (with a soul again)and was being tortured by the so called "First Evil"?
It was the episode where he was ready to kill himself after being mentally tortured by all those memories of killing people in the past...and the first evil, who was torturing him, took the form of Jenny Calender.
But when he was ready to kill himself, it snowed and the sun didn't come out, and he lived.
Well, the First Evil never really died in that episode. It just told Buffy what it was and then vanished.
That's why I'm thinking it's the first evil that's torturing Spike...it was never killed, it tortured Angel when he came back with his soul from Hell...and it took the form of someone who was already dead. That's why the first evil has some potential to be the Big Bad.
But I think everyone is forgetting the first scene of premiere with that chick getting stabbed...what was that about? That seems like the ongoing unrelated plotline for a possible Bigger Big Bad in some way...

Willow did become bad after Willow died...she ripped the skin off Warren the nerd after torturing him and tried to end the world and such.
I don't remember her specifically trying to kill buffy, but she did try to end the world, which involves killing.
But Xander stopped it all.

Willow went crazy because of Tara's death. She didn't want to kill Buffy, but Buffy was trying to protect the geek trio of evil. Willow killed only one of them, the leader Warren. Willow is back to good again because of Xander.

Or I could just have waited to post this until after the other post that snuck in before me.

buffy buffy buffy buffy buffy
i am so excited to have new episodes i nearly broke my ankle jumping up and down
buffy rocks my world. it has always rocked my world, and will continue to rock it thoroughly so long as it remains on (which seems in jeapordy.. ugh)
it nearly broke my heart when buffy noticed the cuts on spike's chest and he said that he tried to get it out.. wow
i didnt read sunndoggy's response for fear of spoilers, but...
i thought it was noteworthy that the procession of big bads went from most recent, back through time. buffy was last, not first. it seems curious to me... it's like she was her first big bad, her first demon to fight. what about last? i dont know, i just thought that the whole "buffy dealing with herself" angle would be more of a foregone conclusion had she been in there chronologically for her to come up this season. i dont know...
i'm not sure what to expect (since i shun all spoilers or anything that might ever resemble a hint.. i like to go in completely cold), but i'm sure that whatever we might come up with won't be right.. that's the genius that is joss whedon (is he even still writing for buffy?) and the buffy writing team.. they always come up with the most depressing and painful super twists. goddamn it, i love this show. i trust them completely
and i know she's young, but dawn's most definitely the hot piece of ass

The general consensus around the net amongst the Buffy geeks, is that Sundoggy is right.
The morphing villain parade is thought to be a manifestation of the First Evil. Presumably, the FE will be this season's big bad, or at least factor heavily into it.

Hey Arienette...Whedon wrote the premiere for Buffy from last night, but I think he's focusing on that Firefly show.
