It's a must see and must purchase DVD.

Although how many people besides me got burned by buying the first DVD only to learn that a new DVD w/deleted scenes was being released. Doh!

It's alright, King, you're not the only sap. I bought the first DVD knowing full well the second one was being released. I intend to buy that one too. Which is worse?

LOL I have been too busy
obsessively sewing my
Arwen halloween costume
to watch the trailer!!!

LOL no really.... please... I'm
ready to go stand in line for
it NOW ;)

ps in case you care, in TTT
the plot diverges from the
books a lot more than it did
in FotR so be forewarned. I
don't care, a good movie's a
good movie.

I knew about the 4 DVD version, but bought the 2 DVD version because (1) I wanted the movie and (2) ALL the extras are supposed to be different.

I watched the trailer yesterday, I want to see this movie NOW!!!!

Scenes from the book came to life in that trailer, The riders of Rohan, the orc encampment, and the seige, holy crap, the seige of Helms deep...

Nice teaser of Treebeard, can't wait to see the whole thing...

I hope, not too much. the elf scenes from the trailer made me scratch my head a little, and I heard a rumor that it ends "early" in comparison to the book, but I think TTT's ending is a great cliffhanger in the book, and remember the rumors in FotR about Arwen joining the fellowship...

We'd better see Shelob... that's all I'll say

Is it Dec. 18 yet?

the seige of Helms deep...
From what I've heard the battle is supposed to be 45 minutes to an hour long with little or no dialogue. I've also heard tell that it rivals the Normandy scene from Saving Private Ryan as far as violence. I'm not sure if they can do that without garnering the dreaded 'R' rating, unless the MPAA considers it "fantasy violence" but a severed head is a severed head, Human, Uruk-Hai, Dwarf, or Elf. I'm not that hung up on the gore though, as long as they include the contest between Gimli and Legolas. It plays such an important role in their burgeoning friendship and after the underdevelopment of Gimli in Fellowship, my only real complaint about the film, it would be a shame not to see it.

Well you can go to
theonering.net if you want to
read/see spoilers about the
plot etc.. but there's some
stuff like all the elves leave
Imladris for Lorien, Awen
brings Aragorn the shards
of Narsil (he didn't get them
when he was in Imladris,
as you recall...), there is
some stuff cut out of the
battles in Rohan (I think in
the trailer we see Eowyn
leading the Rohirrim to
Helm's Deep? I don't
remember) etc.

btw that link posted up there
as far as I can tell is to the
small version of the trailer.
you can get a fullscreen
good version from
theonering.net./

I justc an't wait until the
tickets go on sale - I saw it
on the IMAX screen last year
opening night and Ian
McKellen was there and it
rocked!
