yesterday a boy at my friends school was killed by a soccer goal. The coach was having a bunch of students move the heavy goals and the kid tripped and the overhead bar part of it fell on him, killing him. From what i heard when it had fell it had just broke his neck at first but he was still alive, then someone tried lifting it up off of him but it was too heavy and they dropped it and it then crushed the boys skull.
We had 4 or 5 suicides last year and a few deaths in car accidents, that on top of the september 11th tragedy and a deadly tornado which destroyed a whole lot of my friends/teachers homes and took a few lives, made last year a very slow and sombre year. hopefully this year will be better but so far its off to a slow start. Normally I would say 'that's what you get for playing soccer', but that truly is an awful tragedy. I'm sorry to hear it.

I always watched the soccer team moving the goal structure while I was at football practice like I was waiting for a car accident to happen. Usually the majority of the team was moving it together, so it didn't take much effort. Occasionally, though, not everyone would help out & I always thought as I watched the freshmen struggle with it, "What if someone trips." I wish I never would have found out. But imagine being the kid who tried to pick it back up but dropped it? Wow, that'll be decades of couselling for the poor bastard.

thats pretty sad... people need to know how to handle people who injured their spine, neck or head. They should all know that leaving them still is the best way until paramedics treat the victim... those idiots

Also, at my school, the idiots hang on the scoccer goals... one day one of ems gonna fall and start crying to their 2 daddys
