i watched that movie a second time and i think it stinks. it could have been a funny sitcom. the best part of the movie is the 1/2 retard dudley. i think bottle rocket is a really good movie and rushmore was OK.
DUDLEY fan since day one!

This is a rare thread that actually spilled over from the Bizarro dimension thanks to a rip in the interdimensional barrier. Therefore, any refernce to "bad" or "sucks" actually means "great" and "I'd sell my firstborn child just to have the honor of watching it again."

I saw it, and didn't like it. It was on PPV over and over again and I found myself unable to turn it off. I like it a little more now, the beginning is good, but when the one dude tries to kill himself it loses me. Isn't this supposed to be a comedy?

Sometimes. Isn't life confusing like that?

i loved this movie. besides being one of the most beautifully shot movies ever (the colors and the placement of everything on the screen is brilliant)
the character development is out of control.
incredbile cast, great character depth, hilarious and soundtracks great. i can understand why people dislike it but those who study film can appreciate it on many different levels.

Fatty's my new favorite man. If
you can apperciate film and go
beyond the realm of this film, you
will indeed fall in love with it. I
loved it when I first saw it in the
movies and I love it even more
now that I got the DVD. It's a
Criterion Collection edition DVD
so it makes it all the more better.
I enjoyed watching the 2nd disc
with all the extras and behind the
scenes stuff. The scene with
Gene Hackman and Angelica
Houston in the street where she
hits him after he lies about
having cancer was an extremely
hard scene to shoot because
they were in motion. It was done
perfectly and I admire Wes
Anderson and his talent.
Besides the fact that I love Luke
Wilson, he's a babe. The extra
disc really expresses the true
meaning of the movie in which
dumb people don't get. Sheepy
gets it though so he's cool.

I've seen it in the movie theatre and almost watched it once as well. I had an enjoyable experience both times. I'd like to almost watch it again.

This was a DARK comedy. It was SUPPOSED to be somewhat funny, somewhat serious, somewhat disturbing. That's the point. For those of you who enjoyed it, check out "Buffalo '66". Another excellent dark comedy.

What I love the most is the attitude of people who are fans of the film. If you say you didn't like it, they take that to mean you obviously didn't get it. Being intellectually superior, they take the opportunity to explain it to you, using small words of course.
