Golf is a very frustrating game that really pisses me off sometimes. Club throwing, cart kickings, and cursing is nothing out of the ordinary on the course. The most embarrasing thing that ever happened to me is being so bad at driving the ball that i actually broke the head off the of the driver. The driver head went farther than the ball.

I played today and shot a 98, which isn't that awful. But the funniest thing that ever happened to me was one time I took a shot, it hit off a tree, bounced back and ended up behind me, my ball went negative yards.

IT'S TIME TO PLAY THE GAME-AHHH!

I was getting ready to tee off and some jerk bet me a whole bunch of money that I would hit the ball into the woods...

Well, I hit the ball into the woods then out of anger I threw my golf club towards the club house. My club wound up hitting some lady who was having lunch. Thank god she wasn't seriously hurt. I told her the club slipped out of my hands. My caddy also covered for me by saying he didn't check the grips on my club.

Isn't any golfing experience inherently embarassing?

I once tipped a golf cart over, driving recklessly. Must have been the bottle of ouzo I drained on the front 9.

So gimme a stage, where this bull here can rage
And though I can fight, I'd much rather recite
That's entertainment!

I was losing to three of my friends BADLY and I got really angry cuz i got a big ego and was talkin a lot of crap before we played. It was my turn to hit the ball and I missed and they started laughing so i took my club and smashed it against a tree and bent the thing badly. The funny thing was, it was my friends 9 iron and thats like some good club or somethin. I really dont know alot about golf.

Not really embarassing, but I'd figure i would add my two cents.

This happens to me everytime I play: I shoot a 175 or so.

I've had too many of these moments to pick out just one.

However, I will tell of an experience related to "golfing." When I have played a round or am going to, I usually use golf as a verb ("I was golfing" or "I'm golfing). My brother whose game is admittedly better than mine would call me an idiot, and say that you have to say "I am playing golf" and would compare it to basketball and say that one doesn't say "I was basketballing." He even pointed out that the pros say "play golf."

I pointed out that golf unlike basketball is listed a a verb in the dictionary, and the pros are called "golfers" not "golf players. "

It was a long standing arugment for a long time until we had a blowout fight one night while we were really drunk at a family get together. It was rather embarassing, but I do believe that I'm the correct one.

I don't have an embarrassing golfing experience, but my dad does, so I will share..

My family was on a camping vacation and my dad went golfing on the nearby course. He wound up stepping in a small hole and tore his meniscus (on the 20th anniversary of when he'd torn the other one). It was the second and last time I ever saw my dad cry... (the first was when he had to sell his favorite Corvette so my sister and I could get braces). He had to be carried out of the golf course and have surgery when we got back home. Worst vacation ever!
