News on CNN talks about an "object" discovered in orbit around the sun. Some are calling it a possible 10th planet, while others are saying it's more like a comet or something.

The scientific duo named the object Quaoar,... after the creation god of the Tongva people, a Native American tribe in Southern California. I guess we'll be seeing a casino on Quaoar in the near future.

They've been talking about a Planet X since the 70's. They've been looking for a reason to explain the odd orbit of Pluto.
You know, my Earth science teacher in high school told me that Pluto wasn't really a planet. I guess that old nerd was right...

This is a pretty cool discovery. I hate science, but I have nothing against finding planets. I don't see why it wouldn't be a planet, since I don't think there is a clear definition of planet. As long as it doesn't turn out to be a moon of another planet, I think we've got a 10th.

If Pluto were
discovered today, no one
would even consider calling
it a planet because it's
clearly a Kuiper Belt
object.
ppsshh, OF COURSE! We
all knew that...
Kuiper Belt, Shmiper Belt. If
it's big, round, and rotates
around the sun, it's a
fucking PLANET.
Wait, that's not a planet,
that's just Texas.
I guaren-fuckin'-tee this is

I'm a high school senior. I don't mean it in a Falwell way, but in a way that shows my hatred for such a huge obstacle. I do like the Phil Hartman reference, though.
