I double-parked it this morning at 8:58 a.m. to pick up a package on East 50th Street. When I emerged 10 minutes later, it was gone.
It took me 3 hours to track it down and $150 to recover it from this hellishly dark garage on Pier 74. The NYPD tow pound is a bureaucratic nightmare. Hell on earth. All sorts of pissed off people YELLING & freaking on these slack-jawed women seated behind bulletproof Plexiglas, it was intense. One guy had his dump truck towed. Me, I just sat there ashamed & beaten.
On top of the $150, I was also handed a $105 ticket for double parking. Man, was I reamed. I know I shouldn't have double-parked & I know it's their job, but those tow truck drivers should somehow be made to suffer.
See, the problem is that God gives men a brain and a penis, and only enough blood to run one at a time.
