View Full Version : What do you hate most about break ups?

A guy that I had been with for a long time, just recently broke up with me. It really kills because I loved him a lot but didn't show it all the time. Now it is really hard because I try not to think of him but then a song comes on the radio and reminds me of him. I friggin hate it! I also hate when I want to joke around about something that was between me and him and no one else gets it.

When I've gotten dumped it's been the sense of failure -- that you weren't good enough for her. That'll put a damper on the self-esteem.

the thing i harte most about breakups is that your ex stalks you liek a mad woman calling your house calling your cell leving messages saying that she knows what you are wearing cause she sees you...and then the paranoia that settles in that you feel uncomfy going out cause she might be following.
sorry had to get personal in what I am goingthru.
but i agree with Jenn its cutting the cord

The hardest part is closure.. If you don't know Why they 'need space', how are you supposed to Leave them alone??
How are you supposed to be strong when all the songs on the radio remind you of him/her and make you sob?
One day I changed the station, found Howard Stern... when he was done, found Don&Mike, after that, O&A.. I'm glad RON & FEZ made it to MID Days.. I've become such a HUGE fan.. look at me now! lol
Anyway.. Talk radio has helped with getting over heart-break... Listening to both sides of issues... Learning from others... But couples should really tell it to each other.. be honest and say 'This is why WE can't be'.. blah blah..
P.S. Doug tried to talk to me again...just wished him a Happy Belated B-day, and had him on his way!..
THANK YOU TALK RADIO!!
.. oh geez.. was that cheesy or what?!

the morning after, when you
wake up alone... and you
realize its over. then, more
so in my case, when you
have to pretend to be
freinds b/c you really love
her (not IN love). but you
can't tell her that ne more.
isn't it great when your ex
introduces you to her new
guy? its like a kick in the
stomach with the flameing-
spiked army boot of death.
oh, and jen and fuzzy about
cutting the chord, thats
pretty tuff but if i want to end
it i'm pretty good at it.
usually thats not the case.

i agree the "non-explination" really upsets me. that happened in my last relationship and 3 explinations later she still hasn't told me the truth (and yes i do know the truth because we have the same best friend). that and the songs on the radio too, that sucks!

I always find it difficult to trust a new person that much again, breakups are so painful. The reason why it's so tough is exactly what Pantera said. Now you have to hope your ex doesn't use anything against you.

The part where you will no longer wake up to that person...that you need to pick up and start again. Although you will feel emotionally void on the inside and yearn for days of yesteryear when joy was at its peak, and smiles were at there best. When you remember there was an order to things and how those things are now gone like dust in the wind. When you dont even know who you are anymore...that is what sucks most about breakups
Although to the last thing I wrote about not knowing yourself, I alwyas remember this quote: "When the wind no longer calls to you, perhaps it is time to remember your name"-Elegos A'Kla

Losing touch with her family. With every woman I've dated seriously, I've always hit it off well with her folks. But after we've split up, I can no longer contact them. I can, but I don't. Rule #1: when it's over, it's over.
See, the problem is that God gives men a brain and a penis, and only enough blood to run one at a time.

I'm trying to break up with my girl now. She works out of state(world's oldest profession)so I can't see her with the other men she's with. I picture her with these other men in my mind and it drives me nutty. Especially 2 at a time. I hope I get over her but I think my brain has gone through the chemical change that we call "love". That makes it harder because I get irrational. I guess y'all were right; you can't turn a hooker into a housewife. My heart still hurts though.

the worst part of breaking up is when you can only remember the good times when there gone. thinking about all the laughs and the sex and the passion. then all the bitching and fighting seems minimal.

I hate the awkward moments when you've made the decision and there's nothing left to say to each other. . . when just the other day, you couldn't stop talking to each other.
I also hate the "goodbye fuck" because it reminds you that it will be an awful long time before you find someone who can screw like that again.
I also really hate the dishonest bits that come up when you're trying to guard each other's feelings - like the "let's be friends" line.
I went through a lot of self-doubt in the breakup I experienced, you know, the feeling that you're not good enough for anyone ever again. I decided to become a hermit, but I was even more miserable.
Breakups also affect me physically - I have asthma attacks when I see the current ex - and I could do without that, too.

I remember that the hardest part for me after my first heartbreak was ignoring the little habits we'd picked up during our relationship. Like, there would be a certain time every night he'd call me and after we broke up, that time would pass without the phone call. Or maybe passing by a place we always hung out at together. It just was a constant reminder that it was over and that realization sucks. <P>

I can agree with Michael - it is hard to lose not only your ex but also their family and friends who have become a part of your life as well.
And the little inside jokes and habits that only the two of you "get". Those are tough to get past once you are alone.
This is my first real Holiday without my ex-fiance - and it is strange.
Great now I am depressed....Thanks alot!!
