View Full Version : BMX XXX...hit or miss
The only reason I know about this game is because of the media coverage about certain retailers banning it. What do you think of this game?

It will obviously come down to the game play. The nudity gimmick will wear off in a few hours. So in order for this game to have a long shelf life it would depend on game play. - Duh I am all for hot sexy titles. I mean who wouldn't? But unfortunately game creators will only cover one side. 90% sex 10% game play.

It's just like when they turn video games into movies. They either pay attention to the story and not the look and feel of the actual video game or they make the movie look like the game but the story sucks. I have played a few sex based video games in my time and all have fallen short.

So this is a title that we will have to wait and see.

well it's rumored that Sony may be cesoring the game by using "black bars" to cover the nudity in the game, however Xbox and Gamecube are looking to do nothing of the sort. this may bring a swing in popularity in consoles, not as much because Sony may cover up the nudity, but because gamers may switch towards consoles that have the guts to not censor a game. Sony has been known for pushing the limits with games like GTA3. if they censor the game it may prove disasterous for pulling in new gamers, and keeping exsisting ones. it's a little touchy, we'll just have to see what happens.

first of all the reviews of the gameplay so far has been excellent, so this game may just have it all.
secondly, its not a Dave Mirra game. being the pussy he is he pulled his name from the title and is using it on another game production. what's happened to the crazy badass extreme athletes we used to know and love? conformity is a bitch, aint it?

Seems like a cheap, shameless way to make a generic BMX game that teenagers can batch to. Great, great, great! Or at least I hope so since I picked up a couple K shares @ $1.20. If it hits, drinks are on me. :-)

The game engine is based on the previous Dave Mirra one if I'm not mistaken. I read that this game will have some hefty technical specs (number of tricks possible, fluid animation, steady framerate, etc.). The nudity and gross-out factor is their way to cater to the college age and above crowd who liked GTA3 and American Pie flicks. It should be good.
I don't think it's a bad idea or gimmick, as long as they don't market it for a young age group (no ads in kid mags). But as for Wal Mart & co. not selling the title, I think is ridiculous if they sell DVD's with similar content. If they don't, then they are just upholding their self-imposed decency code. You can't blame them for that. If the game is any good, it'll still sell well in my opinion. I'd like to see games branch out a bit and take some risks, so long as gameplay doesn't suffer. I tend to think as adults we can make our own decisions.
