Ok, I was really pissy this morning. I got up late (as usual), the weather was crappy, and I just wanted to stay home. I hoisted my ass out of bed and got ready for work. I pulled on my raincoat and rainboots (gay, I know, but they're well worth the ridicule!) and threw my shoes in my knapsack.

By the time I got to the train, I was drenched and even more pissy. I get to my office and settled in. I open my bag and pulled out my shoes. There, in my shoe, was a cat toy! I couldn't help but smile!

How can you be in a bad mood after that?

My cat's favorite place for her toy mice seems to be in my shoes, too. Every morning I can count on finding one in my slippers, sneakers, or boots.

Our cat Henry used to sleep on his special pillow on my daughter's bed right next to her pillow. He was her special buddy for ten years. Last spring we found out he had cancer and after fighting like a champ the time came when we knew we had to let him go. We brought his special pillow to the vet and even she was crying when she helped him to pass peacefully. My daughter turned 13 last week and as a surprise I pulled a "Trading Spaces" on her and re-did her room while she was at school. My finishing touch was to stencil a little black kitty behind her pillow so she'd remember her buddy will always be with her. Thank you Alice for reminding me of all the funny,happy memories that made him such a special part of our family!
