View Full Version : Anyone know the best place to buy used CDs online?

I've checked at least 50 sites for Rhino Records' "Poptopia! Power Pop Clsssics of The 80's", out of print since 1997, and can't find it. I can find the 70's and 90's volumes, and I have nine different "notify me" or "wish lists" waiting for the 80's edition, but I'm itching to find it ASAP. Anyone have any suggestions?
And damn you, Tall James, for getting me hooked on this series to begin with...

<a href="http://half.ebay.com/search/search.jsp?nthTime=1&product=music&keyword=poptopia">half.com</a> is the best place by far that I've found. Of course they don't have it though, but it's one more list to put yourself on. The 80's sucked anyway.

Thanks daddy, but half.com was the second place I went to...and yeah, the 80's sucked, but you look in the right places, and the music rules.

I bought from CDNow all the time until about two years ago...their prices are waaaaaay too jacked now...I suggest using cd-wow.com. It's a British site, but they ship anywhere in the world for free, so you end paying about $11-$13 for brand new CDs, even imports.

I usually find good used prices on ebay.
I'm not familiar with this cd, but <a href="http://www.artistdirect.com/store/artist/album/0,,270736,00.html">after looking at the track listing,</a> I want a copy too!

Holy shit, WALMART has it? I was looking for it new or used, I just figured used was more likely given that it's out of print...Jon, you're my friggin' hero! If you like how this album looks, you'd love the 70's and 90's editions even more, and those are easy to find cheap...thanks!

Mojo,
You should get the sedated in the 80's series. Great stuff. There is also Rhino's New Wave Hits. About 15 in the series.
Do you live in Va or DC?
There is a small used cd shop in Falls Church called the CD cellar that has a very good selection of used cd's resonably priced. Right on Broad street across from Burger king.
We want Ron and Fez live in DC.

Thanks, jafter. I practically live in CD Cellar...not too big on the New Wave, but Rhino's "D.I.Y." series is my next quest...
