View Full Version : Mac-Addicts: USE NETSCAPE.
Jeff has been working feverishly to code the new RFMail to work for Mac users. It's not the Mac that's the problem, it's Internet Explorer for the Mac. Fuck Bill Gates.
So, use NETSCAPE. I'm using Netscape 7.0 for OS X and notice how my posts go all the way across the screen. Notice how my sig pic doesn't get fucked up if I edit my post. Java and Flash seem to work well and RF MAIL WORKS FINE.
So, use NETSCAPE for your RF.net browsing and once again love your mac.

i'M using MacOS 8.6 with netscape 7.0. Everything works fine. Also with 7.0, you can post links where as with IE you can't.

I've been telling my fellow Mac users this for quite a while, but some of them (TooCute, ahem) refuse to listen.
If you insist on using IE with your Mac, you'll never be able to put up a sig or link to another site.
Netscape 7.0 is a thing of beauty.

AHEM, at least on my
computer IE loads up in
about 10 seconds whereas
Netscape seems to take at
least a minute. I'll try it
again. But it was too fucking
slow last time.

I think it's cute how the Mac-IE users' posts come out looking like haiku.

Ok I just put IE in the trash bin. FUCK IE AND BILL GATES HARD! Yes Netscape 7.0 for OS X so far looks very fancy and I'm liking it, and yes my PMs work! Woo! I also like the AIM feature right on the browser. Fancy fancy.

OKAY. I am using netscape right now. But it is SO FUCKING SLOW. It is taking AT LEAST twice long to load pages etc. So screw you, I like my stupid column posts! <P>

Aya, download Netscape 7.0 from Download.com. It's really fast, so far no problems and it's really nice looking. Yay! My posts go all the way across!

I DID use netscape 7. But it
is really really really slow.
pages take FOREVER to
load, and the app takes
FOREVER to launch. I don't
have a fancy shmancy g4
and OSX like everyone else!
I have my old G3
powerbook with OS 9.2 and
64 megs of RAM (the
primary problem). Maybe if
the apple store actually
STOCKED the PC100
144-pin SDRAM cards I
needed I might get one. but
buying one just for rf.net,
well... I dunno. everything
else I have runs just fine
and my lack of memory was
never an issue.

toocute's right about netscape being slower on older mac's. you G4 OSX'ers are just spoiled.

I've got a G3 and I'm using OS 9.2, and it's quick like a bunny.
I'm also pretty sure you have the option of downloading only the browser and not the built in mail program. This should allow Netscape to launch quicker.
