Balk played the original fbi agent on the Soprano's last year. But for unknown reasons was replaced by a hotter chick this season. I dont know why she was disallowed though.

To limit the power of the pitcher to pick off baserunners. Otherwise you'd severely cut down on steals or first-to-third baserunning.

Some pitchers won't even scratch their nose when they're on the rubber with a runner on first. They'll step off the rubber first before scratching that itch.

reason for the thread, the
BALK is against teh rules
because once the pitcher
begins the pitching motion
he is obligated to pitch.
otherwise all kinds of
shinanigans with pick offs
and stuff might occur that
wouldn't be entertaining
and would piss me off in
general.
