HK-

I was wondering, considering their alphabet consists of a bunch of symbols and all, what do their computer keyboards look like?

Good question Jasmine. No joke, I really used to wonder about how Asians, Israelis, Arabs, and Indians typed

"In war there is no substitute for victory."
-General Douglas MacArthur

"If gold should rust, what will iron do?"
-Geoffrey Chaucer

"Worship him, I beg you, in a way that is worthy of thinking beings.

DEATHSTROKE was good enough to provide a link to a picture of a Japanese keyboard. Here's a link to a picture of a Chinese keyboard.

And there's no L key. It's just another R key for some reason.

And they seldom work right because the drivers are bad.

That is awesome HK - I always wondered how a chinese keyboard worked - the japanese makes sense and is easy, because there is a phonetic alphabet - you just spell out the sound of the character you want and it will pop up on the screen (my grandmother has one; it's neat). But as I understand it, although chinese does have a phonetic alphabet, it isn't really used. Making the characters by hitting their components makes sense. Neat :)

Ha, I thought I just
explained it. On a Japanese
keyboard you spell out the
characters phonetically. So
for say the word 'watashi',
you would type in phonetic
characters 'wa-ta-shi' and it
puts in the character
automatically. Sometime if
there are two different
characters for the same set
of phonetics, you have to
pick the one you want from
a little list.

The chinese I guess you
choose the components of
the character from the
keyboard - basically you
have sort of 'basic'
characters and adthem up.
for example, there is a
character for tree. Two tree
characters together =
woods. Three (woods plus
a tree on top) = forest. Neat
huh?
