HK, I have a question for you. From your sig pic, I gather that you have Golden Retrievers, some of the most beautiful dogs in the world. I am interested in getting a dog such as this and am wondering did you or anyone in your family have allergy issues with the long hair on the Retriever? My wife, is allergic, and I hope my daughter takes after me and is not. I'm just curious about your experiences with this and would appreciate any advice before I go ahead and do anything.

Also, I know from hearing you on the show that you have kids as well. Retrievers have a reputation of being great with kids, is this true?

TALL JAMES - Yes I have a Golden, and in my opinion they are the sweetest most even tempered dogs. My daughters brought her into class for show and tell when they were in first grade. I hope to take her to visit the seniors in an Alzheimer's program.

She's great with people.

I love all dogs, but I have a preference for the larger breeds. The way I see it, any dog that you can put in a habitrail is not really a dog!

My son and I have allergies, but fortunately they're mostly confined to hayfever, molds and some plants.

My son has a friend who has terrible allergies, to grass, trees, foods, peanut butter, milk products etc. However, he is not allergic to dogs (or more accurately the dander in their fur).

Even those with severe allergies to dander can get certain breeds of dog and suffer no ill effects. I don't recall the breeds offhand but they are all very short haired.

JUSTJON is very allergic to dogs and I suggest you talk to him for the perspective of someone who actually experiences problems around dogs.

more importantly, how did you get the crown to sit on your dog's head like that? :) I can't even get a bandana on my dog anymore.

Kudos to you sir. You are, as they say, a good egg.
