View Full Version : X-Mas Party Question

Some of you may know, many of you probably don't, but we are trying to plan an "Official" RonFez.Net X-Mas party for y'all. But due to the costs of many of the local venues, we need to know what you guys are willing to pay.

Many places want to give us full catering and everything else, but of course want to charge us, so the question is, what is the limit? Is $40 too much to ask of you guys to pay per person? Should we try to limit it to $30? $20?

We are not making any money off of this, but want to give you guys the best party possible. We are planning some cool shit for that day, and we want to make as much of it a surprise as possible, so please just stay on topic here.

Thanks guys.

I think $40 is way too much, considering the holidays are usually pretty tight for most people anyway. And since there is a core group on the board, a high cover might turn newer members off to coming.

I have a lot of time on my hands and I actually plan events really well, so eventhough I'm not a mod i'd be willing to help in any way (and I'll keep it all a secret)

Are you doing cash bar or open bar? Open bar could lead to legal problems, and increases the cost. Cash bar would mean the at-the-door cost should be lower. If you're going with cash bar, anything above $30 is gonna keep quite a few people away.

It takes time to plan an event. Plus, places get booked early.

This is a great idea. I'd spend $40 if it's an open bar, $20-25 if it's a cash bar (which is more realistic considering the number of underage members we have).

Most of the places we've talked to have either went cash bar or limited drinks included, then cash bar. They all seem to want to include food in the cost.

And amy, $450 is quite a bit of money, and it will defray the cost, but we're talking a couple thousand dollars at most of the places we go to, so we will need to ask for attendees to pay. I promise full disclosure of funds to those who ask (I won't make it publicly available on teh site), and if there is any leftover money after the party, it goes directly back into the paypal account for the next event.

$30 is cool...i think $40 although a $10 difference is a bit high...especially for the people who wanna come who are like in the late teens or something....do you know what day of the week it will be a fri or sat?...its super that the admins and mods or whomever is putting a shindig like this together.....its fantabulous in my book

Depends on what the $40 provides. If it's an open bar and food then $40's a bargain. $40 + a cash bar might be a bit high.

Depending on the place 30-40 isn't bad, but location should also be considered if we want to get good and sloppy it might help to have it near or in a hotel. Some hotels will discount rooms for parties.

Bad idea.

40 is definetely kinda steep,
i'm saying by the time i pregame and get my trees i'm already at 30 bucks.

40 if it's open bar i guess, but it better be a good 4 hours of it.

we're gonna have the best time regardless so it's not like we need moet and lobster to eat, i'm saying any place with decent food and beer will be fine for most of us.

I agree with alot of these responses. 40.00 is do-able. but maybe if more then say..35 people <or more depending on what the event is> you should bring the price down. That might also get more people out to be able to come out.

I am donating $100 to the RonFez.net party fund tomorrow if SamoanWoman shows up tonight with the Big Ass Night of Frights Ticket she said she'd give me. I'm sure she will be show up. So I hope that will help with party planning.
Does anyone know if each ticket is good for 2 people?
