Pretty good episode, but it went by in a friggin flash. I know they cut 5 minutes off each end for commercials, but it seemed shorter than a Sopranos episode.

Tonight's episode was really good. The show didn't miss a beat at all. I think tv shows would be better if they ran them uninterrupted like that. Maybe they could have one sponsor for that show. It would make things much smoother.:-)

Elisha Cuthbert in tank top and panties was a nice way to reintroduce her to the series. But you'd think Kim would start carrying a knife after all the times she was kidnapped in one day last year.

Tony just isn't the same without the soul patch. He's just like half the Tony we used to know.

Now the q is, what will this year's terrorists have to do with last year's terrorists. And how nefarious will the wedding be? Is the bomb going to be in the cake???

This season seems to have the same basic thing that drew me in last year. The first few episodes are ok action wise, but you can tell that something kickass is about to happen. I'll be glued to my tv every tues. for the next 22 weeks. The only thing wrong with 24 is that it is competing with ron and fez.

Wow!! Tonights episode rocked. This is really starting to "hit home" what with the announcement of the new "Bin-Laden" tape and warnings of new attacks. I hope "Darlene" doesnt die, but if she does she can visit "Dan" up in heaven.

Another good show. The only problem I have is the whole storyline with Kim and the one with the sister of the bride. Those are moving too slow.

their moving slow TV time wise, but how much can really happen in an hour. i think having those parts slow keeps the realism of the show. Last nights episode was great. The guy not wanting to warn CTU was a dick. he had a decent point about giving up his cover, but he was still a dick. its my favorite show on TV right now.

The best series ever in the history of history. Nina's back, Insane abuser dad getting closer to kim, Jack shots a dog in addition to a blowing away a bunch of people, trying to get information out of a nearly girl, and finally MASONS GOING TO DIE. I hate him so I think I'm going to throw a party. Anyway I offically dub this season superior to the first.

as far as the kids past abuse goes, itll end up being obvious its one of the folks, not Kim, who's the problem. and when the cops see mom..guess who will go to jail?! I was soooo proud of jack when he killed those 3 guys and got that matchbook! but i thought he couldve played it a little cooler with Wald. I mean-he didnt really know who else was on the compound, etc. well, it turned out ok, and now Nina is the new target. She's gonna have to die by the end of this. I'm rambling, but i agree, this season tops the 1st one by leaps and bounds!!!

I totally agree. The minute I saw her I said she had to be dirty, but I guess they just wanted us to notice this small role which will likely be dead by 1pm. Oh, well.

With every episode, I like this season better and better. Of course there's alot happening people! Its all happening at once in one friggin day. I knew it wouldnt happen, but I sooo wanted Jack to put a bullet in Nina's head. Looks like the fbi's gonna get in his way next week. And dont worry--I'm sure the whole wedding story will tie in eventually. Meanwhile, i dunno, imagine the 2 sisters getting it on. Edited for addtl thought: what was Mason doing with so much money ( a few hundred thousand in an account no one knows about)??? public servants, even at that level, dont have that kind of $ without being bad. Could he be a victim of a plot that he himself is involved in?

Holy shit. This week was full of surprises! If u didnt like it this week, u shouldnt really be watching. Dad's "in" the cia, 3 terrorists (including the big guy) dead! Mason really starting to freak about his own death, Jack and Nina sittin in a plane, c-r-a-s-h-i-n-g. the reporters loose! wife or old cabinet guy? Wedding sister and her PI kidnaped (by the cia? or the terrorists? or..gulp..both? remember-there is a inner government conspiracy to defame the president). Better and better I tell ya.

This was the best episode of the season so far. What a way to wrap up for the year. The show gets alittle stretched out but the show hit alot of high notes tonight. Bravo!

I can't wait to see where they were going with this 'hostile faction' in the government, because those soldiers certainly sounded like Americans.

The angle with Jack and Nina, though, is going to have to be very inventive to be believeable, because there is no way he should get out of this...but no doubt he will. I trust them, because they haven't been hokey before, but I can't think of a logical way right now. I guess that's why they get the big bucks.

on the previews for next week it looks like Ressa(not sure how to spell, but he is the groom) is going through the computer files and says only one other person knows the access codes and then you see a gunshot....i think its going to end up being his wife to be. she just seemed to get to upset at him when he told her about her father. i think she and the dad are in this together.

This weeks episode was a great one in my opinion.

I say it every week...but..I have to again. It gets better and better! If you havent tuned in yet, maybe its too late, but definately buy the season 2 dvd when it comes out! This ep was well worth the 2 week wait. I loved every scene, even though at 1st I didnt like the President crying...he did it well, and I changed my mind. He just might cry in that situation. The belt sander victim can definately cry. yikes

The commercials for Tuesdays episode show the President's main helper guy, (forgot his name, he is the older one) talking on the phone with the bad guys. Youcan clearly hear him say on the phone... "I told you not to call me here." Then the person on the phone speaking through a vocal harmonizer says: "They will link the plane that just crased back to you."

The commercial also shows Kims boyfriend lying on the ground in a pool blood.

At this point, I dont trust anyone, especially Palmer's wife.

They pull us back in after the holidays with two great episodes, then leave us hanging...and there is no way in hell we won't be back (especially the way they plug this show). And, how convenient, they drop the biggest bomb of the season (no pun intended) and they'll be back just in time for February sweeps.

They're a few steps away from catching Ali....
Kim escaping from the cops/LA....
Finding out why the blonde chick is in on this with (?) her father....
And we haven't seen the inept jackasses driving the bomb to its' final location in weeks....
Finding out that the fucking bitch (first lady) is behind the whole damn thing!

Great episode. The guy burning at the end was amazing. Next weeks looks really good. I loved when they were torturing Stanton. And also there were commercials all night for 24 on American Idol. It had like lines from different magazines saying it is the best show, and other stuff but not revealing what it was. Than Fox ran like a 60 second promo for it quickly showing the best clips so far this season. It was a really good commercial promoting it.

OK, I probably read WAY too much into this but at the time that Mike and Lynn were talking in the hallway (about the intercepted communications between Sherry and Roger, the NSA Director), didn't the camera work give you the impression that someone was eavesdropping by hiding around the corner of the wall? And remember earlier Sherry bitched to Lynn that she was "being kept out of the loop"? Maybe Sherry started tailing/spying on ynn?

Personally, I was hoping that Jack was gonna go against the president's order. But when they "shot" the kid, it was way too obvious that they didnt do it. I did dig the fact that Syed Ali caved. Way to go, Jack! but wouldnt u think Syed has just a little more info for us? Why'd they stop?..oh yeah..the whole 12 episodes left thing. I thought of u guys when she came out nips first from the bathroom. Yeah, ok, the Kim storyline is back. Although I think the writers watched too much tvland as they were writing her storylines. Last week, it was the bobcat from Lassie, this week the bomb shelter from...oh..i dunno..happy days, or twilight zone? Now..where is the bomb? Did it leave on that truck that left the hanger? Another good episode. I liked the Marie interrogation - it was nice to see her NOT give up the bomb's location (if both her and Ali had actually given up the goods, I'd be questioning just how tough these terrorists really are). Kate is nice to have around, cause she's easy on the eyes (even all haggard and weepy), but it's kind of odd to have Jack come to her at least twice an episode and give her the old "We really need your help...I need your help" pep talk again.

Oh, and I have to say: the entire Kim storyline is just stupid and annoying, and only takes time away from the good plot. If she wasn't so damn hot, I'd really be complaining about it...

Damn, I was praying that the Pres would finally hit his limit & backhand the Mrs. "No more lies, bitch...now make me some pie!"

And I really was hoping to see Jack sticjk his finger in the little blonde's wound & rip it around & make her scream a little more...or at least have her sister slap her ungrateful brainwashed ass around a little. A little bit of a letdown not getting any of the story on the 7th Coral Snake (or whatever) that turned on his buds, but at least we got to see him take the bullet.

This was another damn good episode, though, especially for a transitional one. But how the hell is Jack gonna get out of next week alive...or are we really going to get about nine episodes without him? He's flying the nuke over the desert to detonate? If he was in a fighter jet, maybe I could buy him outrunning the blast radius, but it still would be a stretch...but in a prop plane? Am I missing something...wouldn't it make more sense to take it out to sea? Not that I claim to know anything about this, just seems more sensible.

Not that I doubt this series, it always delivers. Guess I'll just have to be patient...but, man, is that hard every week.

A transitional episode it was, but still entertaining. Ok, they have the bomb, which could go off any minute, but 8 episodes to go..hmm..I'm hoping Jack flies the plane over Iraq and drops it, only to be told there's another one at a Starbuck's somewhere in Seattle. The only other option they considered was out in the ocean. But the negative drawbacka of fucking up the whole ecosystem was too much of a risk to take.

In the atmosphere was not an option because (a) they only had the little props planes at that airfield to choose from & none would be strong enough to make the climb & (b) raining faul-out debris is the last thing they want.

The underground idea was too time consuming. Plus, they are near LA, I don't think they want to fuck with any nearby faultlines by hitting them with a nuke.

All-in-all, another great episode. Damn Mason for doing something brave to make up for a year and a half of being a real dick...I wanted to hate him.

And damn the sweeps for being over, another 3 weeks before I get my next fix!

I agree about Mason. Even once we found out he was on the plane, I was hoping he'd turn out to be a bad guy right up to the end (maybe trying to wrestle the controls from Jack so he could fly the plane toward LA.). but DAMN HIM! The last scene with Jack, Kim, and Palmer seeing the cloud from their respective vantage points was chilling.

The 3 weeks are weeks off just like any other show when they show repeats. Plus they want to end during May sweeps when all the advertising money is. Obviously you cannot repeat 24, so it just takes a couple weeks off. The last 8 or 9 weeks should be straight through now until the Finale on may 29th.

It bothers me..because last season, we didnt know that it wasnt a single season, so you really didnt know who would live..and who would die. Sure enough they killed off his wife and most everyone else. Great season. But now..we KNOW that Keifer and his daughter will survive, probably the president will also. Just like Sopranos - knowing they are milking every stinking dollar out of that series means..nothing interesting happens until they are ready to wind down - like the great final season of OZ.

If that guy dies in the package store, it's her fault. I hope LAPD Chief Bratton does a cameo and executes her himself...and then removes her clothes. As for why the voice wants Jack to bring kate, I'm at a loss. We'll find out on Tuesday!!!

A nuke just went off in the desert. I assume all air traffic is now grounded. Kate Warner, as a parter of Warner Industries (or whatever her dad's company is called), has DoD clearance, since they are military contractors. The snake guy wants to use her to get the fuck out of Dodge.

And yes the Kim storyline has been hackneyed, but this recent two eps were just an excuse to get her back to LA to tie up the decent beginning to her storyline. So now, she's still being blamed for killing the pilot from Starship Troopers' wife.

The snake guy (Coral Snakes I think is the group) is the 7th member of the group of special forces agents who were following the nuke & allowed it into the country so that they could take credit when the plan was foiled. He apparently killed the other 6 members of the group, thus ensuring the nuke would go off.

His other job (for presently unknown benefactors) was to plant the recording of Ali & the Middle Eastern diplomats so as to cause a US millitary response.

After a few episodes where I wondered if the show was worth watching anymore, This episode had me once again planted firmly on the edge of my seat. This show does so well when the audience knows an immediate goal. Find Sayed Ali, Find the bomb, get rid of the bomb, and now get that chip to ctu! I had a feeling one of those 2 (mike or lynne) was gonna turn on Palmer, but to be honest I was leaning towards her and her mole--I thought the writers were just trying to make us think it was Mike. Oh well--I was wrong! This weeks inside joke: "You dont want to make your daughter an orphan, do you?"

I think only one word can describe this episode, AMAZING. Jack has risen from the dead. The doctor stabbed the bad guy in the back to suffocate his lungs. Jack killed like 4-5 people, No Kim, Lynn is on her way out, Tony made that bitch look like a fool, No Kim, Josef is dead which stinks, the president is catching on as to what is going on. Great episode.

Well..lets not forget a few pages back. There have been 1 or 2 bad "transitional" episodes, but on the whole its an amazing show! And it's definately back in a big way!! I will break my tv show-to-dvd cherry with this one, I think. Just 4 episodes left folks. Who's behind it all? This was a good episode. The "meeting" dragged it a little, but it showed how the politics play into this. The president is a stand-up guy who cares more about the people of the US than his "political career", and that's what we need in this day and age. If I were him, though, I would've put my elbow into Novick's nose while he was sitting there for stabbing the president in the back.

PURE SPECULATION: I think the guy that Kim's going to shoot is the wife-beater husband. It's a loose end that they would be tying up for the show, since the one cop said that they're still looking for him. Kim told her father that the cops were taking her to "pick up some things at the house", so it probably happens at the guy's place.

As far as who's behind it? Not sure, but the guy in the chopper is not the boss- he's just the bag man, I'm guessing.

Is this the second to last episode? It's not the last one I hope, there's too much more to finish up. I've noticed that we're not getting as much new information per episode as we were. I guess they had to stretch this season out longer and if it's continuing on next year, show's tend to leave plenty of lose ends which drives me crazy.

Although I think the next-to-last episode was pretty good, I still think the way that "Alex" died was kinda stupid. Jack just kind of sat there helpless instead of trying to stop this guy from bleeding to death. If you they wanted the guy to die, do it in some other way than making the lead character stand by helplessly.

I'm betting that the bomb-bay doors open before they get proof back to the VP, or should I say "acting-president". It'll be a close call.

How far up in this plot do you think Sherry is? I don't believe she's the mastermind, but I do think that she's a major player. If you wanted to start a war and keep the president from finding out what's going on, what better way than using his ex-wife to misdirect him? She was probably promised something for her contribution (money, power, or something else) and that's the only reason that she was back looking for the tapes of her conversations. Trying to bring down the president is not reason enough in my opinion- it would only save face for you with the press, it wouldn't help with the relationship she had with her husband already.

Loved it! I figured they would have to run into next season. There was just too much going on.

The one thing that made me laugh was the Kingsley - Jack scene. He's right about to shoot and bam! the swat team delivers from a helicopter. A helicopter. Like Kingsley wouldn't have heard a helicopter hovering over his head? Unless it was Airwolf in stealth mode.

Yeah, Kingsley would have never waited that long to shoot him, but Jack has already died and come back in one day, even I wasn't gonna believe that again. I was hoping Sherry was gonna pop up behind Kingsley (it could have redeemed her even more), but the helicopter worked for me.

I think Kate's sister was talking about her specifically not being safe. I wouldn't doubt if she sends some crazies after her next season that Jack will have to fight off (since they'll be banging by then finally).

The poison was on her hand via a special covering. It created some kind of acidic reaction on his skin, probably burning through to his blood stream and killing him. But we'll have to wait and see if it does.

That's a good point. When she peeled that thing off of her hand, I figured the plan was to get Palmer's fingerprints to use to bypass security. That whole infection thing was weird. Now the VP becomes Acting President -- again.

I agree that Kingsley should have heard the chopper. I was expecting some random SWAT guy to take him out (remember, the team will be there in 11 minutes...), but not from a helicopter.

Why do bad guys in TV and movies do this? If Sherry was supposed to come alone (and bring Alex for them or whatever) and she had Bauer with her, what's to say that there wasn't a full SWAT team out there at the outset? If I were Kingsley, I'd forget the commentary and just pump lead into Bauer and haul ass.

These last too episodes seem like they were re-written late in the game, they seemed a little rushed to me. Sherry starting to take off while Jack was stuck in the SUV, then coming back, and Alex's death just seemed forced.

And Tony should kick that fill-in from Division out at first opportunity. She's out for herself, and would again sell him and Michelle (and maybe other CTU employees) down the river for personal gain, and he knows it.

She was only in the first two episode or so...she stole an ID card from a photographer on a plane & blew it up shortly after she jumped out at full altitude. The photographer was supposed to have exclusive clearance to Palmer's addresss that day...that was how the bad guys got their would-be assassin into the meeting.

The only other thing I remember about her is that her girlfriend/lover wanted to hold out for more money & was shot in front of her before she eventually gave up the ID card as planned.

Hopefully it will be about the cure for Palmer & he won't die...but I have to figure a good deal of it will be personal revenge on Jack for screwing a lot of people out of a lot of money. Naturally, the people he's pissed off will be continually trying to take out Kim. But since Palmer has already been dosed, the next season seems like it'll be the very next day, so no time for Jack & the blonde to really develop a relationship...but I'm sure he'll spend a few hours trying to save her, too.
