For petes sake...my favorite team oakland has now lost two games cause of a freakin coin toss! can the NFL please switch to the college OT format? give both teams the ball on their opponents 25 and tell em to keep scoring till one team doesnt, after 2 ot's then you have to go for two after a TD. not only is it a lot more fun to watch (as anyone who saw that mississippi/arkansas game that went 7 ot's last year), but it gives both teams an equal chance to win and doesnt determine the winner on a freakin coin toss!

If Oakland had played better they wouldnt have gone into overtime. The NFL is a man's game they get paid to win, so if they cant win the game in four quaters they cant get a shot in overtime!

A sad thing in life is when you meet someone who
means a lot to you, only to find out in the end that it
was never meant to be and you just have to let go

If Oakland didn't allow San Fran a 16 play drive, not to mention the 14 play drive at the end of regulation, they might have had chance.

Also Cortez MISSED a 27 yard FG. Game should have never gone to OT.

The NFL's OT format is just fine. A sudden death format makes those players truly earn that money. It brings out the best in the players. It makes every down important.

it's simple...

all Oakland needs to do is practice calling the "coin-toss"
:)

I'm sure you know but a "coin-toss" does not win a game...

well the fact is that OT winners are about even between the coin toss winners and coin toss losers. If you lose the toss, the other team elects to receive, and you hold them to 3 and out, you start with great field position, about 30 yards from a reasonable field goal attempt.

I agree that the OT format should change. By the time you reach OT, the defenses are so spent that teams march right down the field on them for a FG and it's over. I think you should get a full quarter before they go to a sudden death quarter. The NFL is the biggest draw on TV, why not get a little more out of a game that is close & usually good?

The Arena Football League uses the college format and it makes for a MUCH more exciting atmosphere.
