Every once in a while I encounter a people who I feel extremly bad for, basicly becuase of the hand life dealt them.
After these encounters, I usually go through these long periods of gulit, where are start thinking how I could help, why do I have it so better off, etc.
It will consume my thought for a couple days usually and even prevent me from sleeping.
Is this normal HK??? Should I be acting on these feelings??? Should I feel gulity???
Yesterday I emt a guy who triggered all these feeling again... and it really has me feeling pretty aweful about myself.
I need a little insight here HK

I go through periods of excrutiating guilt
That's weird, because I feel excruciating guilt when I get my period.

TOM POO - Life is not all roses and every once in a while, you'll meet someone who is so bad off, that temporarily, your own problems pale in comparison.
You report feeling guilty when you meet such a person. The guilt is broken into two thoughts; 1. Why do I have it so much better and 2. Is there any way I can help.
You need not feel guilty about having it better than someone else. There are people who have an easier time than you there are those who have a harder time. We must all face what life has dealt us.
Your question about whether you should be acting on the thoughts is a good one. Perhaps the guilt you feel isn't so much a feeling of "why him and not me," but rather, why aren't I doing what I can to help others in general. It seems to deeply trouble you as it prevents you from sleeping.
I'd suggest that you give serious consideration to doing some volunteer work. You may find it enormously rewarding. It will certainly ease your perception about not doing anything to help.
In short, do not feel guilty or badly about yourself. Use your feelings as a mechanism for determining what would bring you satisfaction. It seems like helping others would do it. Try to think of ways that you can achieve this.

Life is Pain. Some have more than others.
Also, not all pain is able to be noticed on a person's exterior. Many people suffer inwardly.
