Just wanted to see who was gonna go see this movie in the theatre or wait for it to come out on video/dvd.
I think it will be a good movie, Eminem should be pretty good in it, considering its about his life. Oh well see ya
Will there be people talking back to the screen? Then no, I can wait.

this film should be very good!
the original screenplay is actually not about Eminem. only certain parts were rewritten once he was put into the role to shadow eminem's own life.
i worked with the stedycam operator that worked on the film. he said that, at least the scenes he filmed, are very gripping. he also said that Em is a surprisingly good actor for it being his first major role.
i for one can't wait to see this movie.

With dance fighting and all!
Should be like a Greese 2002 type movie.
I would love to see Eminem rap "Sandy"

Wholet him act? Why is he so f'ing special? I know just because I don't give a damn about Eminem or his life other people do but I just don't get him. I want to blow the money just to be a dick and laugh at all the dramatic scenes and make a nuisance in the theater. Of course then I would get my ass kicked but it would be worth it. I hope the film tanks. Don't hate me, I am just speaking my mind.

Wow, I guess Mr. Tough Guy tried REAL hard to keep all those big, bad pop stars that he "hates" so much away from his movie premier. What, did Moby and Lance Bass come in right after her as a couple?

c'mon kids, are you really that blinded by what a talentless no heart fuck off this shitbag really is? he's a marginally good rapper, that's it. why would you see a movie with him?
i wish i didn't get so depressed about how people buy into his god awful bullshit but it really is a shame that people like whatever garbage the music industry tells them what to like, and now it's crossing over into movies.
he stinks and i don't like him.

i'm not saying that he's not talented, he's actually an allright rapper and he's definetely better than those other guys you said.
but its his act that is so fucking lame i can't stand it. he tries to act so bad ass, but he's really just and mtv trl whore like the rest. i get heated cause it's such music industry manufactured attitude he has and everyone buys it. it's pretty sickening.

I saw 8 Mile tonight and it fucking rocked! So much better than I thought it would be.
Eminem's "8 Mile" High
Eminem wound up the weekend miles ahead of the competition.
His 8 Mile racked up a huge $54.4 million, its first place box-office finish matching its soundtrack's top-of-the-charts' debut earlier this week.
(The rare twofer was last pulled off in January 2001 by Jennifer Lopez with The Wedding Planner and J.Lo.)
If estimates hold, Eminem's acting debut in the semi-fictional tale of a shady hip-hopper's Detroit roots was the second best R-rated opener ever. Only that cannibal Hannibal gobbled up more--$58 million.
The 8 Mile haul was almost twice what Universal had been expecting, and played to all demographics. Sixty-nine percent of the audience was under 25, more than half female (despite the star's misogynist lyrics) and just less than half Hispanic and black. Universal's head of distribution, Nikki Rocco, claimed parents were accompanying their teenagers (got to obey that R rule, natch).
Directed by Curtis Hanson (news) and costarring Kim Basinger (news) as the trailer-park mom and Mekhi Phifer as the rap contest entrepreneur, 8 Mile scored the fifth best opening of the year, behind the seemingly more mainstream likes of Spider-Man, Star Wars: Episode II--Attack of the Clones, Austin Powers in Goldmember and Signs.
8 Mile was also the fifth best November opener ever, behind the usual-suspects list of family fare: 2001's Harry Potter (news - web sites) and the Scorcer's Stone and Monsters, Inc., along with Toy Story 2 and Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas.
Eminem (news - web sites)'s flick debuted in 2,470 theaters and averaged an amazing $22,050 per screen. The 8 Mile avalanche buried last week's number, The Santa Clause 2. Still, the Tim Allen (news) sequel only dropped 15 percent from its high-flying pre-Yule opening, taking $24.8 million in second place to bring its two-week haul to a jolly $60.1 million.

I'm familiar with his freesytling skills by listening to a ton of b-sides and unreleased stuff of his. He uses it quite well in the movie.
Kim Basinger and Brittany Murphy are fucking hot too.

I saw this on Friday night. It was absolutely incredible. I thought that Eminem played an extremely believable character that was easy to relate with. You don't need to be a fan of Hip Hop or even know the history and significance of MC Battles since you can translate it into pretty much any other career.

I'm torn over this one. On one hand I hate eminem as a human being. I think he's fairly talented, not nearly as good as he's made out to be and not even the best white rapper out there let alone best rapper, but if I have to hear him bitch about how hard it is to be rich and famous one more time I'm gonna stab him in the eyes.
On the other hand, Curtis Hanson directed it, and I love both L.A. Confidential and Wonderboys. Plus I wanna bang Britanny Murphy. Decision, decision.
