Let me take you all back...
the Glory days of WNEW,
and AFRO. I had taken the
spring 2002 semester off
from school... was working
full time 3 towns over
manageing some verizon
wireless stores... 45 min
drive.
on the way in it was the tail
end of farell and who knew,
a fav game of mine.
then it was the first 3 to 7
mins of don and mike (i
was supposed to be there
at 10, never was) they
aren't funny, but i liked their
intro song. and (ROOOOB
SPEWACK)
then i'd get to work, do all
the paper work, eating and
phone calls i needed too.
ahhhh 3pm OnA!!! thats
right, in the middle of a mall
i broadcast the fellas. who
heard? all of my customers.
thats right, from lil old
ladies to 20 year old frat
guys.
7pm, time to go home!!
who's on? MY GUYS! RnF!!!
ICP was the closeing bell.
u came up after the words
"creep show" SOOO
SURRY!!!! then 45 mins of
the guys, then dinner and
bed. then do it again.

does anyone else think that
we were lucky in these
days? i mean we had 12
quality hours of radio, and 4
hours of actual work (don
and mike) every day! *sniff*

how have ur lives changed
since the glory days!? (i
went back to college and
got a life)

Yes, those were the good ol' days ofr WNEW.

Can't live in the past thought. But I agree, Talk Radio has become a very important part of my daily life now, and the slow loss of quality programs on WNEW pisses me off.

Since I cannot stomach Leykis, I get up, catch what's left of R&F until 2, do different shit(today I baked shit), and wait for 7.

Summer time.....delievering food, I had to be into work at 11 so I'd get up around 10, just in time for....guess who?....yea that's right, The Radio Chick (I really enjoyed her show, say what you want though). I'd spend most of my day in my car so it was the Chick until 3 when O&A came on. If I stayed and worked the night I would just continue to listen until 7 when R&F came on, and that was my day. I listened to close to 13 hours of talk radio everyday, quite sad.

IT'S TIME TO PLAY THE GAME-AHHH!

geez i thought i was the only idiot to listen to talk radio all day. I start early and end late. when O & A were on my schedule was great I too skipped a four hour block in the afternoon. It got ugly after O&A left but I've come up with a good schedule. Howard-R&F-hour break-Bill O'Reilly (yes)- Bob Grant-R&F. Not the same but it will do.

I think Moe is living my life. I get up around noonish and listen to the boys. Then I Martha Stewart through the next 5 hours til they're on again. Is that pathetic, should I be worried?

don't know if i would call Don and Mike part of the glory days.... my favorite lineup was the one right before the day O and A went off the air. I loved listening to Ferral on theway to work... i was really starting to warm up to him and his show, and often times prefered him over Stern. O and A goes without saying, and I have always loved R and F since they came to New York. I seriously doubt that I will ever again come across programming that I could listen to all day long, like I could with these shows. It's a shame... management doesn't realize how right they had it, and how good it was. oh well. Everything was beyond any of those shows' control. It all snowballed, and poof... gone.

I liked when they did worst of from 2-3 to make the Radio chick's ratings better....

I shucked it, and I shucked it, and I shucked it, i'm quite the mother shucker

I was just thinking about that last night. The two- three week period where it was Ferrell, R & F live, best of O & A, then R & F live again where probably the highest point of radio for me.

I agree with everyone here except for this. I don't miss the O&A of 2002, I miss the O&A of 99-00.
