Bar codes and serial numbers are displayed on Taiwan's lottery scratch-tickets, Thursday, Nov. 7, 2002, in Taipei. A Taiwan bank's officials were trying Thursday to understand how someone managed to crack winning codes for scratch-tickets by matching serial codes with corresponding bar codes on the back of the ticket. The cracking of the code led U.S.-based GTECH company, one of the world's largest lottery-systems operators who supplies Taiwan, to warn lotteries worldwide on Wednesday of possible infiltration and has forced Taiwan's government to recall 8.3 million tickets. There's a group of fifty-year old guys that hang around the garbage cans and drink coffee. Around 8 o'clock...the drawing time I guess...they mob the place. They all have cars in the lot and cause traffic jams every night. When I was 17, my friends and I would get kicked out every night for doing the same thing! Where is there a difference...oh yeah, we didn't have cars.
