HK, this may seem like a stupid question, but If I work 8 hours a day at the age of 22 , should I be tired or should I still have the energy to go out and work another job? I told my father that Im tired after a days work and he told me I shouldnt be, and how at his age he did this that and everything else.

It depends on what you do? It also can be tied to what you eat during the day.. A huge McDonalds lunch with deffinatly make you tired because of the high fat content...
----------------------------
I fix computers all day and I need an energy drink after work to get me ready for my work-out.

How many breaks a day do you get? IF you only get to eat lunch and then nothing until you get home your energy stores can be low..

What kind of job do you do? Are you in front of a computer all day? Dr.'s are looking into a link between tiredness and working on the computer.. The monitor can cause Eye-strain which eventually can tire the body down..

AG - It's not a stupid question at all. You're a young apparently healthy man who feels tired after a full day's work.

Most people feel emotionally, mentally and or phsycially drained after an 8 hour work day. Some degree of tiredness is to be expected. It is certainly not surprising if you feel too tired to go out and work a second job after working a full day.

You didn't indicate how much sleep you are getting. If you're not getting enough sleep, it will adversely affect your energy level. On a realted note, if you have sleep apnea, you can be in bed for long periods of time and still not get the type of sleep needed to feel refreshed and see you through the day. (One of many warning signs for this is chronic snoring).

Other possible causes include anemia and depression and cardiac problems. It certainly would be a good idea to see an internist and have your blood levels checked and have her listen to your heart, check your blood pressure, etc.

That's really a load of horseshit. Whether you're 22 or 52, you'll be tired at the end of your workday. Older people tend to get tired a lot faster than we do but it also depends on what you're doing during those eight hours. People assume that because you're young, you should have energy to spare. To them I say HA! They have no fucking idea. I have to make time for extra energy.

But if you wanna boost your energy, eat well, get sleep and take vitamins. I should take my own advice...

I'm in a class all by myself... and its f*ckin' lonely."

I am alway tired at the end of my work day. No matter what age I was. But once I consume a couple of beers. It's all worth it. It supports my habits, so complaining is not a option.

AG sleep a little more, try switching your diet up, exercise a little. See if it works

You should ALWAYS be tired after a day at work, or you're not really working.

If it persists for more than a week or so go get checked out. I was tired for about a month, even on my morning off. It turns out I have Chronic Fatigue Syndrom, so I handed in a paper that said that to both of my jobs and my college and I get a little more consideration now.
