View Full Version : Numbers of Letters

Hi, everyone. I've been a lurker for a few months, and I know I'm really new to posting. But, I just felt that I had something important to say (I just hope it doesn't piss anyone off.).
Maybe everyone on the board should stop mentioning how many letters they have sent. I mean, I LOVE the letter-writing campaign, and I really hope that Ron & Fez stay on in NY (They're the best thing to listen to by far!). But, my fear is that someone from Infinity will see the boards, see that a lot of us are bragging about sending multiple letters, and thus discount the letter writing campaign - writing it off to a couple of people sending a lot of letters, instead of realizing that there are a ton of us out here sending them.
So, in short, keep up the good work, everyone. Keep writing letters. Just maybe not mention sending multiple letters so much...
Just a thought...

This is actually an interesting point.
My only comment is that we're all writing professional letters with our names on them, so they would probably start to notice if John Swingdick wrote 100 letters in one week anyway. Plus, I'm not sure how they plan to make a descison about keeping the show on or not, so they might not even look at this board.
And lastly, John Swingdick writing 100 letters just shows how supportive of Ron and Fez he is. So this isn't a bad thing either.
Thank you. This was my 1st, and will be my last polite, professional response.

Just to address Death Metal Moe's comments (because I love to play Devil's Advocate), I think the thing I was afraid of was that there have been a couple of comments on the board about people writing numerous letters under different aliases. I have less of a problem of John Swingdick writing 100 letters and signing them all John Swingdick (although there is the possibility that will also dilute the letter campaign and cause Infinity to just stop opening the letters in the first place, assuming they're all coming from John Swingdick). But, if Infinity comes to believe that people are writing letters and signing other names to them, they may start to discount ALL of the letters they receive - chalking them up to a few people writing a bunch of letters under false names.

And, I would be absolutely floored if Infinity did NOT have someone monitoring this board. I mean, they know the board exists. They know the letter writing campaign exists and has sprung up out of the board. It would be only logical that they would investigate what's being said on the board. Hell, I'm sure that someone's been monitoring the board for ages - before the campaign began.

Again, just my two cents. I'll stop preaching about this.

I love Ron and Fez just as much as the next guy, but I haven't writen a single letter yet :(
But don't worry. Tommaro I have a day off so I intent to write 2 or 3.
I am happy some people have written multiple letters, but if you could, don't say the # unless your asked.

Excellent point Mornir. We cannot be overly cautious here.

If you were a real fan...You wouldn't be wasting your time posting on this board, telling people to not talk about the number of letters they have written.
Oh wait...
Forget that.
This is a good point Mornir, but I can assure you that the head brass at Infinity Broadcasting will not be reading the thread that is now well over 100 posts.
I say...Write as many letters as you can. And cross your fingers evertime you drop your letter in the mailbox.
It's the least we can do.
STOP READING THIS POST AND GO AND WRITE ANOTHER LETTER.
Thank you.

As a suggestion, what about a petition. I mean it's along the sme lines as the other campaigns, but why notat the next night out have everyone sign it.

so they would probably start to notice if John Swingdick wrote 100 letters in one week anyway.
Does Mr. Swingdick use his 3rd arm to write these letters?
"In war there is no substitute for victory."
-General Douglas MacArthur
"If gold should rust, what will iron do?"
-Geoffrey Chaucer
"Worship him, I beg you, in a way that is worthy of thinking beings.
