View Full Version : Rally?

I don't know if this was ever mentioned in any of the other threads on the board. And, I know I'm certainly not a capo or anything. But, I was wondering if anyone was organizing a rally for Ron & Fez, to keep them in New York?

The letter writing is a great idea. I think that it is the most effective way to show Infinity that Ron & Fez have a strong following here in New York. But, maybe if there were an organized (and I STRESS "organized") rally and a group of us showed up, it would help hammer the point home.

No violence. No shouting. Just a strong showing of support for the two best guys on radio.

As always, just my two cents...

Hi! If there is a rally of any kind being organized, let ME know how I can help! I wish I had the ultimate power to do more, but the least I can do is make a stand and show my support

I am a capo and I think a rally would be a great idea. If the failed O n A ralies have taught us anything though, we have to do it when everyone can attend. So I am open to suggestions. So either e-mail me(dagoalie34@hotmail.com) or post here

A rally would be a good idea, the problem is planning it; so the majority of the fans can be there.

A rally would be a excellent show of support. I'll even bring my radio, they can have it. If Ron and fez leave I won't be needing it no more. There would be nothing worth listening to. See ya.

Rally is the wrong word. Labor unions have "informational picketing". We assemble, we pass out fliers, we act civilized. No beer, profanity or assholism. It's an option but many people work or attend class during the day and a nighttime gathering would be useless..the city would be empty. Great idea, just a bit complicated.

AnyWHO, this would be a good idea. But we need to find a day and time when we can have the maximum support possible.

I will totally flier. Kind of in my punk rock DIY mentallity to fight for a cause and to flier. I can draw something up and where would be a good place to do it? Anyone want to help? Let me know.

The problem with a Rally is that, to be most effective, it needs to be seen by the suits who work during the day and, all of us work during the day too so there will be very little attendence. This isn't me being cynical, it's just me being realistic.

SO, I'm with Heck. If anyone is interested in "picketing" outside Infinity Headquarters on THIS FRIDAY, drop me a line. I want to be there around lunch hour with some flyers, a sign strapped to my cheast, and a radio playing the boys.

I can help pass out flyers...I am not going to wear a sandwich board, though. I just can't...

But, if I can make a t-shirt or sweater for them....then I will.

But, I am free this Friday...

I've never arranged anything like this but I think 7:00 would be the best time. It gives people enough time to gather after work/school. Ron & Fez will be on the air so they can mention it and possibly send an intern down to air it. It would also be early enough to possibly get coverage on the 10:00 newscasts so the suits will see it. The O&A rallies failed because they planned them around what they WANTED people to do instead of what people WILL do. Either way, it shouldn't be a seat-of-the-pants thing, it should be well planned out.

We should have a general idea
of how many people can come
before we committ, so that it
doesn't look pathetic. And if
we do it, we have to call all
the papers beforehand so we
get some cover

if you're going to do this, coordinate it so more people show up than the o&a "rally"...if you could call 10 people a rally....

Look guys, any gathering after business hours would be a waste of time. The suits that call the shots need to see it. Anything in the evening is non productive. Besides that, it would have the potential to turn into a party, which would be totally inappropiate.

I agree that a party would be inappropriate (but fun...).

I agree with Heckler that it's important for the suits to see the gathering (or flyering, or picketing, or rally, or whatever we want to call it). But, if it's impossible to assemble during the day when the suits could see it, I don't think that it'd be an utter waste to get together at a time other than the business day. There's always the press - even if the suits don't witness us first-hand, if there are enough people gathered together, some of the papers/tv stations will pick up the story.

At the very least, it would attract more attention to our cause, which is a totally good thing. The more people that know about our fight, the better...

As always, just my $0.02.

Chaining ourselves to trees in the brazilian rainforest is quite powerful, but you guys should try a formal rally. Hand out flyers, and wear suits and stuff, look real professonal, not like weekend warrios slobs.
