I dont eat when i have my period...

The days before my period i eat whatever i am craving but then when i actually get it i cant even look at food, i am so disgusted by the smell, look, taste, etc. that i end up not eating for however long it lasts(usually 5-6 days) i dont know if this is normal, and i even try to force myself to eat but the feeling is so overwhelming that i think id probably throw it up. Can i do anything to make this stop or go around it?

It is normal to have decreased appetite and nausea before and during your period. It's also normal to have increased appetite during menstuation.

From your description it seems like you have a very severe aversion to food during your period. You should definitely speak to your gynecologist about this, b/c birth control pills can contribute and/or cause such symptoms. Additionally, there may be anti-nausea medication that you can take that will help you feel less queasy and eat.

grlNiN - I suggest trying iron suppliments. The reason women have anemia more than men is because of the loss of blood, (and thus iron), during castration/menstration. You may not be anemic, but periodic, (bad taste pun unintended <--- that one either)loss of hemoglobin and iron could cause anemia symptoms while you're riding the cotton pony, which would be fatigue and nausea. Nutritionists will always recommend increasing iron and vitamin C intake during "Carrie week".
