Underground Weird Hot Spots in NYC

Does anybody have a weird bar/club/museum/place they love in NYC...something few other people know about...

always looking for interesting alternatives for the weekend than the obligatory bar...

A really cool kinda weird place is Dakota Road house, right near where the towers were. Very cool down to earth people, all sorts of iron puzzle type things you can ask the bartender for and play, and great food. Also, you know those things you put 50 cents in and try and grab a plush toy with a metal claw? They have one of those except its 2 bucks and you go for live lobsters. If you catch one, they'll cook it up for you for free!

SUBWAY INN on East 61 Street & Lexington. Right by Bloomingdale's - drop off the little lady and head in for a few. If you like a good dive bar, this is it. A lot of characters in that place. Cheap beers, horror-show bathrooms. Not for the quaint, but a great spot.

you have 9C in the lower east side(if you need to ask where 9C is, you shouldnt know where it is then)... its on the corner of 9th street and avenue C.

and you have niagra on 7th & A i think it is... i dont remember...

I dont know how populare this place is but Coney Island High is a cool place. i saw the Romones play there in...I think 96, and it was a great F'ing place for a show. A few hundred people crammed on this small floor. It's a 2 story deal. Sweet.

I know this is a NYC spot thing, but i thought since theres DC posters and some of you guys may venture down to DC on buisness matters sometimes, id share my favorite place to go in DC.

Capital Q BBQ - Best dam BBQ in the whole city. A hot spot for caps fans before a game at the MCI Center. If your looking for me and theres a caps home game, chances are im at the Capital Q grabbing some beef to take into the stadium. Check it out guys, its off G Street I believe, its outside China towns gates.

If you like to people watch and you want a real freak show try the Downtime between 7th& 8th Av. I belive its on 30th St. (or there about) Its like something out of a movie. Its a mix of gothic and industrial punk the,clothes are more like costumes its wonderful. Oh you will be frisked at the door. <P>

OK First of all Coney island High is gone been gone for years get out of the house People.!!!!! The Subway inn is not for the faint of heart but a smoky rocking good time to be had for all. Shots 2.50 Beers a Buck you lay your base buzz on there and the rest of the night is a nice fuzzy. The Vault is a wierd place it's expensive and a freak show but you'll have stories for years( ok maybe days) This time of year anyplace near NYU is gonna be interesting cause thy're getting midterms done I think and the girls get a litle bit crazy.

I herd that Hogs and Heffers is actully a cool place to ahng out, and allthough its a biker bar, bikers really dont hang out there. As far as few people knowing about it I dont know. Now as far as Wierd goes, Im going to have to say Red Rocks. I really dont know of any other hole in the wall bar, that has Hot ass bartenders pouring water allover them selves. In my oppinion, hot, but weird. Of course Alot of O and A and RF people know about it, but other than that Ive spoken to alot of poeple who have never herd of this place

pretending you are really

the museum of the city of
new york has a neat
diorama and stuff

have the pepper and salty
shrimp at phoenix garden

go to that club that's only
open on sunday afternoons
(I forget the name)
