i think this movie was a lot better than the first one. you start to learn more and more about hogwarts and about why harry's parents where killed and why he was spared. i wasnt really into these movies before i saw the first one on dvd, but now im hooked.
i never read the books so i dont know how well it keeps up with them, but the movie was real good.

Swa it friday. good flick. movie flowed really well, but the book, of course, was much better.
I like how the books/movies transition from a more action/mysetry based to more character/plot with each one in the series.

good but SOOO long...and it felt that way...there was a lot that could've been cut to make the scenes move a little faster...
like 90% of the shots that just capture harry smiling...if i had to see that friggin smile one more time...
and i totally didn't get the end...why the celebration? nobody seemed that upset when they took him to azkaban prison to begin with...
and i didn't get the valdamort/thomas riddle thing...didn't play right to me...
bassilisk was cool though...i jumped at a couple of close calls...

Good to know someone will be keeping their eyes on Hermione. After all a new underage "sexpot" has to replace the Olsen twins.

The best part was when Luke was fighting Vader, and Vader told him he was his father.

If you like the movies you will love the books. I am not a big reader but I read all of the books, in a relatively short amount of time.
Thank you Ron and Fez for finally being live in DC again.

My favorite part was when they were deep inside the mines of moriah and the guy with the pointy hat stuck a magic flashlight on the end of his stick so the monsters could see them better.

wasn't as good as the first flic. I liked the brief cameo of JK rowling in the train station. I liked the idea that voldemort gave harry some of his powers when he evaporated ...

i enjoyed it, not any better but not any worse then the first one. i have to agree with jeff though that some of the long delibrate shots get annoying after a while. all and all i think it rocked.

I liked it definitely, but personally the 2nd book is my least favorite and so I personally _cannot_ wait for the 3rd movie. I also can't wait to see little Hermione when she's 18... >;) <P>

I admit that I am addicted to the books and currently am up to the third year in the series. Very well written for a children/young adult series.
The movies follow pretty close to the book but sometimes they alter things like removing Peeves and the other kids in Hogwarts by leaving them without names, etc.
didn't get the valdamort/thomas riddle thing...didn't play right to me...Jeff, here's a quick explanation about that. Not really paying attention when I was watching the movie a while back but in the book "TOM MARVOLO RIDDLE" is an anagram for "I AM LORD VOLDEMORT." They are one in the same.

I absolutely love the books (even if JK Rowling has decided to take her sweet time getting our fifth fix to us...)!
That being said, I can't get into the movies. I mean, I don't dislike the movies, and I've seen Sorceror's Stone half of the times it's aired on HBO recently. But, my problem with these movies is that they aren't really ''movies'' - they're more like dramatic readings of the books. Chamber was better, but I still don't think they're transitioning the books into movies as well as they should. I mean, I shouldn't be bored at any point during the movie, but I was!
