I mean Italian Ice stores are almost as ubiquitous now as Starbucks. I think they're mostly Mafia, I mean Cosa Nostra fronts anyway.

However, if you have to go supermarket variety...

Marino's Italian ices are the best because they're the only ones that have that crystallized syrup ice crystal slush on the bottom. They should just make a version that is just full of that shit. This way I don't have to dig a wedge when I open them to flip them over and get to the good stuff.

In Jersey there is few "Rita's" Italian Ice places that are around. Really delicious. My favorite is lemon.

Been going to the Lemon Ice King since I was like 8 years old. Great place to go when your hanging with your friends in the summertime.

Ive been, i not only love the lemon....but the watermelon, raspberry, strawberry.....Its all sooo good. I have to agree, it is my fav!!!

The crystalized sugary, syrupy goodness at the bottom is what I remember most of my childhood summers getting italian ices from the ice cream man.

Rita's cherry is the best with actual bits of cherry within.

i grew up in corona and i lived like right around the corner from the ice king.. the best godamn ices ever. not too long ago someone my parents knew brought a VAT of chocolate ice and gave it to us... it reminded me of everythign that is good and pure in this world.
