It was earlier rumored (and pretty much assumed by the WWF) that he died of a drug OD. As it turns out, he suffered from congenital heart disease. <P>

I miss Pillman alot. I was just watching a video of him versus Jushin Liger from early WCW and it was amazing. Too bad he had to leave us so early on in his life.

thanks for bringing him up big man.i miss him a lot,he was my favorite of all time!he had it all and would be a perfect fit for todays wwe!!i don't think he would be in the cruiserweight division though.they would be great matches though.

Bruce Hart is Brets brother. He and Pillman teamed up in Calgary Stampede wrestling back in 1988.

I'm not sure if it was also on the first episode of Nitro but it did take place on SuperBrawl II for the short-lived WCW Light Heavyweight Championship.

You know, I was sitting here thinking the exact same thing. Brian Pillman was a huge star that never got to fully shine. When he went into his "Loose Cannon" gimmick, people forgot about his classic matches with the likes of Ric Flair in WCW. Those were special.
