What is an instant, sure fire way, to cure INSOMNIA??
When I was growing up, masterbation did it for me.. I was out like a light.
I once tried counting sheep, it was sweet picturing the little fuckers jump over me.. I think I even named them one by one... it helped w/ my imagination, but I was still wide awake.

There are nights that I fall asleep while talking on the phone with someone (which is hysterical after I hear the dial-tone and get very UPSET that they had the BALLS to hang up)
But what is a best way to help get us sleep?
Anyone have an answer?

There is no cure. If there was then i'd be sleep now. Masturbation only helps if you're single. I hate math and sheeps..Lately, I've been using this message board to help me..

Running a batch, yes, most times that works for me or just having some nice companionship with my favorite sock. I always have on either Nick at Nite or TV Land. Not that they are boring but I am just so comfortable with the old shows, they are like an old friend. Having one of the cats with me also works because if I don't fall alseep, the cats will get pissed because I woke them. Other things I have used were my Commodores and Barry White records, a glass of warm milk and the sheep thing.

It's important to understand the basis for insomnia. It may for example be a symptom of a mood disorder.
Assuming all is OK medically and psychologically, any activity that helps you relax will help you sleep. That's why masturbation is used as a sleeping tool by so many. Some enjoy a warm bath or milk and cookies.
Medication should only be used very short term.

there is an herbal method, i haven't tried yet. Put of few drops of lavender oil on your pillow, the scent is said to aid sleep.

Reading does the trick for me. I've also found that melatonin helps too. Stay away from sleeping pills, they'll end up messing with your body clock and become addictive.

The best herbal stuff is supposed to be melatonin and something called valerian root. St John's Wort is supposed to be an herbal prozac useful for depression.

I'd be very cautious about herbal remedies. They aren't regulated by the FDA and aren't necessarily even what they claim to be. They also can cause harm.
Most significantly was a report on the most popular herbal "remedies" in Time Magazine about a year ago. They found that most do nothing. Some are harmful. Some are helpful, but only if taken in many many times the dosage recomended on the bottles.

Are you sure that someone's not just dosing you up with gobbler and box wine just so they can play with your vintage toys after you pass out?
