what is the chance that Infinity people read these boards? I have an idea for another save RnF strategy but don't want to let them in on it if there's a chance they read these things...

thanks ADF for the SigPic!!

Please! Maybe employees who were fans of the show to begin with, but besides that, no.

Maybe they send people to see if the site is breaking any copyright laws or anything.

Other than that, they have better things to do than to check up on what fanboys are plotting.

And I'm on a Board of Directors with Shari E. Redstone...unless the board you are on is the infinity board, or you're prepared to sleep with this woman, (is she a wife or a daughter or what?) i can't imagine that will help you anyway...or, will it?

Shari Redstone is the daughter of Sumner M. Redstone who is the CEO of Viacom.

Anyway, she went to my college and is on the Board of Trustees. She is also on the Executive Board of Viacom.

"Ms. Redstone is known as a respected leader in the entertainment industry. Currently, she is a member of the Board of Directors of Viacom and actively works on the development of synergy projects between National Amusements and the Viacom Companies (CBS Television, MTV Networks, BET, Showtime Networks, Infinity, Paramount Pictures, Paramount Television, UPN, Blockbuster Video and Simon & Schuster)."

(taken from the Harvard Business School Student Association Web Site)

Perhaps I can cc her on my next letters or something...and send her another letter separately.

And I'm on a Board of Directors with Shari E. Redstone
Wow. This snapped me awake.

Chairman, in all seriousness, you have in your Rolodex the most effective leverage the Save R&F campaign could hope for. As a small cog in a (different) corporation I've seen first-hand how whims from people at the top become critical mandates for people further down the food chain. And from what I read about Viacom in the biz press they are more autocratic than most. If you're looking for input, I say definitely contact her & make her aware of the efforts. I've observed the super-wealthy often find earnest proletarian efforts like ours charming, especially since we're not asking for money. In fact, I believe we are trying to prevent Viacom from making a mistake caused by imperfect information in the decision making process.
Dude, send her a letter.

You're only young once, but you can be immature forever. :-)

Ditto, Chairman. It's totally worth a shot to send her a letter. One letter to her is worth a number of letters to Sykes...

At the very least, even if it comes to nothing, it's worth a try.

(BTW, I'd bet almost anything that Infinity DOES monitor this board...)

The Chairman

eh

Is this supposed to mean something? Does it mean it's a stupid idea? Does it mean that I'm trying to do something other than having my staff, (most of whom never heard of Ron and Fez) write letters to Infinity and in seeking suggestions for another idea you think it's worthless? Would it matter instead if I had said I ran into her on the express line at Target and she was buying Modern Flyfisher and I am a flyfisherman and we discussed our mutual love of fly fishing and that she mentioned that she goes fly fishing and uses the Viacom corporate jet to get to her favorite fishing lake in Wyoming and she listens to Infinity radio stations on the way and she happens to be on the Board and went to school with me and is also on a Board with me? Does it matter that I put my relation to her in context? Never mind. I will just write my letters and send one to her using my letterhead and professional judgement that in business sometimes it's not what you know it's who you know and in the corporate world it's all about contacts and connections and relationships and sometimes the best deals are made on the golf course and sometimes a phone call from a Board member to a subordinate helps. I thought it was worth a try. If you have better ideas go ahead. I'm sure yours are better and mine shouldn't hurt too much.

I'll tell Sumner you say hello at the Viacom Holiday party. Last time I saw him he was eating at Nobu and had Shari's three kids bouncing on his lap and he looked happy to see me.

In the meantime, whoever runs this Board, please delete my posts. I'll just do my thing and whatevs.

Good luck with whatever you are doing.

Chairman Kaga, by all means send Shari Redstone a letter and follow up with a phone call if you can.

From reading Sumner Redstone's autobiography, I get the impression he is grooming her to take over for him some day. She has power in that company.

This is absolutely the best idea I've ever read on this board. You'll deserve a plane with a banner if this works.

Sorry. I've calmed down. It's just that I have dyslexia and thought you wrote "he" and Shari Redstone is a "she."

I'll post my final letter on this Board.
