O'kay, about a Rally

<font color=purple>I attempted to organize a small one a few days ago, but within that thread there were some misunderstandings and it was subsequently deleted.

Those misunderstanding have since been resolved, and a small first strike rally, in addition to a more massive one being planned, now comes with the blessings of all involved.

So, we need about a dozen people who aren't affraid of the cold, can bring a certain amount of professionalism to the equation, and are willing to give up a few of their day time hours one day next week.

Ideally, we'll work in two shifts, one in the morning when the suits are getting to work, and one between the hours of 11:30 and 1:30 when the rank & file are taking their lunches.

We'll be stationed in front of 1515 with one - and only one - banner reading "Save The Ron & Fez Show."

We'll also be circulating the petition(s) of the same name, as well as handing out pamphlets with information detailing our cause.

They'll be no chanting, no group singing of Kumbaya, no signs of protest. This isn't the March On Selma.

Rather it's an opportunity to bring some more attention to our cause (within a few hours, this time of year, we can quite literally reach thousands of potential fans & sympathizers), and show Infinity's powers-that-be that we're more than just about writing letters.

That we're for real and very motivated.

That we're here, we're queer and that we will not disappear :)

Before the last thread got tossed, Too Cute had already offered her services (no, not <i>those</i> services). We need about ten more.

Post here if you're into it and with which, if any, days won't work for you.

The clock is ticking folks, we can't afford to rest on our laurels. Let's save the show while there's still a show to save!

but the 1515 building is also the
MTV-Times Square Studio so it's
not exactly easy to stand right
outside without getting drowned
out by screaming pre-teens. You
will probably have to set up on
the side street where the
corporate entrance is and, since
it is Times Square, the police are
prone to move you out to clear
the sidewalk.

I'm not saying don't do it. Not at
all. Do it! Represent! Go forth
with your plan!

<font color=purple>I hear ya. Actually, I work down the block from 1515, and have stood in front gathering signatures with several co-workers several times already.

Your overall concerns are the same ones I shared with Bobby last week, when we were debating the merits of a smaller rally versus a larger one.

This time of year, at this particular location, I suspect that a dozen of us handing out pamphlets and collecting signatures is about as much as the NYPD is gonna tolerate.

The TRL crowd doesn't really become a factor until around 3:00, and is kept off to the side of the building until then. We will have been finished for a good hour and a half before that becomes an issue.

Btw, if you work in town, you'd be an excellent addition.

<font color=purple>It's gotta be earlier than the 20th, by having it that close to x-mas - and on the Friday before x-mas no less - we'd run too high a risk that most of the suits have already started their year end/holiday vacations.
