Gathering At The Rockefeller Center Tree Lighting?

This coming Wednesday night(December 4th) is the annual Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony. Thousands of people pour into the area, the majority live in the WNEW listening area. Anyone interested in gathering quietly displaying some posters and distributing fliers? We can't get into Rockefeller Center, it will be jammed and it is private property but, the surrounding areas are mobbed. Just a thought..anyone?

Wrong. Sorry guys, I have worked in the area for many years and it's the people from the Tri-State area that dominate. They are the ones who arrive early and get "good spots". True, there are many tourists but I would guess that 80% or more are from the 5 Boroughs, Jersey, LI, Ct. and upstate NY.
Any gathering is great, as long as people behave. That means NO beer, weed or profanity. Good luck.

Heckler's right. just like the Macy's Thanksgiving day parade, it's a tradition for thousands of locals. Sure, most Manhattenites don't go, but the majority of the R&F audience is in NJ,LI, brooklyn, & queens.

Heck, zathrus and I were thinking of going in because she has never gone. I think it's a great chance to hand out some flyers. I'm in. email me.

If anyone decides to go and distribute fliers tonight, just remember:
Rockefeller Center is PRIVATE property. They will hassle you if you are on their grounds. Stand in a public area, possibly 5th or 6th Avenue.
Also,dress warmly, you don't need frostbite.
